Happiness Meme Day 2

Several little things have made me happy today.

1.  My kids think I make the best homemade turkey pot pies in the universe.  Even better than Marie Calendar's.  Since I made the filling without a recipe (leftover turkey, gravy, peas and carrots) and it's only my second time ever making pie crust (first time was my pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving), I was thrilled.  Ramekins make great individual pot pie dishes.

2.  After nine days away from writing Zeppelins I feel refreshed on that story again and have started really writing the next chapter, as opposed to just plottinb bits of it.  And Hunger Moon is still writing smoothly.  It makes me happy with the voices in my head muses not only don't argue with each other, but take turns.

3.  The last of the snow in my yard has melted.

Children of Time Awards Still Has Space for Nominations

And seriously guys, some of the categories are majorly underrepresented.  Like Mickey Smith, Martha Jones, Captain Jack Harkness, the Master, Other Characters, and our beloved Ninth Doctor (not the same as the Nine/Rose category, but can have Nine/Rose fics in it).  Also Ten/Master, Ten/Martha, and Ten/Donna.  Even Rose Tyler still has a bit of space in it, like four or five.  Nine/Rose and Jack/Doctor are only halfway filled.  There's two slots left for alterate universe/reality fic, and many each in Fluff, Dark, and PWP (and I know there is a ton of good PWP out there).  Also crack!fic, list!fic and episode tags (a scene or story written that continues on from the end of the episode).  Classic fic, drabbles and short stories are all woefully underrepresented as is favorite new author. and favorite mod.  Not to mention the entire Sarah Jane Adventures' categories list.

So come on people.  There's a few days left to get your nominations in and fill out some of these categories.  Nominations must be seconded, so if you like something and you know someone else likes something too, you can always ask them to second your nomination to make sure the fic you want is represented.  The nomination form is here:

Her eyes flew about the warehouse searching for something, anything she could use. She’d found it, grabbed it, hacked it, swung, came to his rescue. That was the first time. She’s been saving him ever since. Never again with so grand a gesture. Just in a hint of a smile, a laugh, a glance, a hand that fit in his. He watched her rise until the day she fell.
