A/N: Since there will be no new fic tonight I thought I'd bring over another one I haven't put on my LJ before. It's got very short little chapters, each one a moment in their relationship where they are watching each other. This is Ten/Rose but the photograph in question is of Nine and he haunts the story, a lot of it being about how they each feel now he's changed. It was the first time I wrote full-fledged smut. There is angst and romance. Last chapter assumes there was no season 4.

Chapter Six: Sleeping Arrangements

“I like your home. It’s lovely, Dr. Tyler,” Luke said as he looked around Rose’s abode. One living room wall and the ceiling were made of glass and opened onto an unobstructed view of the dome wall, and through that a gorgeous view of the surface of the moon and the stars above.

“Thank you, Luke,” Rose said with a smile. "You're welcome to call me Rose." She led them through the rest of the house, pointing out Jamie’s room, the washroom, her own bedroom with its private washroom, a tiny little laboratory/office for Rose and the kitchen.

Chapter Five: Getting to Know You

“So, Doctor, you never said. How’d you get here?” Rose asked him. They were walking through dome Delta, a dome completely given over to the hydroponics gardens and a large park, complete with several small animals and various pollinating insects.

“I don’t really know,” he said. “One minute I was piloting the TARDIS and the next everything went crazy. Then we crashed on the moon. Your moon. We weren’t even near the other Earth at the time. If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say it was you. You brought me here when you used the power of the Vortex.”

Chapter Four: Meet the Family

Rose sat back on her heels, enjoying the look of amazement that crossed the Doctor’s face. “You can’t just drop a bomb on us like that and walk away,” Landon said as Rose strode rapidly down the corridor. “What do you mean our father? I thought you said it was impossible for him to come here?”

“No, I said that he said that it was impossible to come here. I’ve seen too much in my life, done too much, become too much for me to ever believe in the validity of the word impossible, Lan.”

Chapter Thirty: To Call Our Own

They had chosen to honeymoon on Earth and though they both had a little hesitation on going there, the first place they stopped was Darlig ulv Stranden, trying to prove it no longer held any power over them, that it was just a place like any other. Of course, it was different because the beach they had stood on to say good-bye had been in the parallel world, and neither of them thought they had quite that much courage to return there, even the next time they went through the gateway.

“What’s wrong?” the Doctor asked Rose as they lay in bed together that night. There was a tension about her that he hadn’t seen since long before he’d lost her to a parallel world. Not since she'd been upset about the prophecy of her dying soon in battle all those years ago. That had proven to be right and wrong in ways unimagined at the time.

“I don’t know,” she said her fingers threading absently through his chest hair. She leaned forward and kissed the little spot between his pectoral muscles. She sighed then, nestling her head against his chest.
