A/N: Oh, my goodness, I did it.  I finished it.  I'm shaking.  Wolf Moon is done.  It's done.  This is ridiculous.  I feel like I'm going to cry and yet I'm so happy to have completed something like this.  The ride, it's just been amazing.    It feels so unreal, so...crazy and beautiful and joyful and strange, because it's a story.  Yet, it was a story that wouldn't leave me alone.  And it was this story.  And I'm so glad it came to me, and bugged me until I wrote it, that it woudn't leave me alone until I ate, slept, and breathed it some days.  I want to thank my faithful beta JeopardyFriendly, all of my readers, and especially my reviewers, for coming along with me on this adventure.  I would have written it for me alone, but having you along with me made it so much better.  I appreciate every one of you.

Return and Away

The TARDIS had landed on the far side of the canyon from where she’d landed the first time, but she still hadn’t landed too close to the temple.  The Doctor asked her why.

I've got freaking writer's block on the last chapter, or what I'm assuming is the last chapter, of Wolf Moon.  Argh!  I've been trying all day and it just doesn't want to come out right.  *sighs* *thumps bed*  On the bright side I have the first 610 words of Hunger Moon written.  Opens with the TARDIS' POV.  Don't appear to have writer's block on that one.  I'm tempted to work on some more crack!fic.  I've got a Jack, Donna, Ten in the works and usually it's stubborn, but since the normally easy Wolf Moon is being a bear, maybe the crack!fic will work this time?  I don't know.

A/N:  Not the last chapter but we are close.  Maybe two more to go, maybe one.  It depends on how it writes out.  One paragraph of drive-by smut but that's all in this chappie.  And I wanted to showcase another one of the banners angelfireeast made for me.  This one is slightly different than the one I've been using the majority of the time.  A different image of Nine and a slightly different background.  Thought I'd bring it out for an airing just so you could see all the hard work she did for me. *smiles*

Time War Tale Told

Rose rested with her head against his chest, sprawled sideways on the bed, her head tilted towards him so she could see his face as he talked.  The Doctor played idly with the fingers of her right hand and his left hand was buried in her hair, stroking it from time to time.  “Backwards and forwards in time,” he said in a low voice.  “So many times, so many places, trying to save what couldn’t be saved and watching it all go to hell and burn.  For thirty years I tried to stop each little breach in our defenses.  There were so few of us willing to fight.  Only the rebels, the outcasts and the renegades…and Romana, though she did most of her fighting in the senate.  The others refused to bestir themselves thinking Time Lord might and brain power had to win in the end.  It always had.  When they realized we were going to lose the war and finally decided to make the effort, it was too late.”

More than Lovers

It amazed Rose that just a few days ago she was shy and hesitant to be naked under the Doctor’s piercing blue gaze, but today it had felt completely natural to her.  It had also amazed her that just two hours after showering and sharing a meal with the man she’d made love with three times already in a span of four hours, she was yet again feeling lust rising to overwhelming proportions within her body and a desperate need to shag the Doctor until he screamed for mercy.  Or she did.  She wasn’t all that particular at the moment which one of them did the screaming.  She’d be just as happy if it were him.

Giving and Taking

“You okay?” the Doctor asked her as they lay still connected and facing each other.  His eyes were vulnerable as he looked into hers and one hand rose to stroke sweaty hair away from her face.  She was so lovely like this, freshly made love to, flushed and completely tousled.

She nodded, smiled, and said, “It was beautiful.”  She reached up and ran her fingers over his eyes, his nose, and his mouth.  He kissed her hand as it trailed across his mouth, sucked in her index finger as it caressed his lips and circled the tip of it with his tongue.

Sex and Loving

Rose woke up and glanced at her watch with a start then narrowed her eyes.  Her alarm should have gone off an hour ago but it hadn’t.  She wiggled around so she could look at the Doctor and asked him, “Did you turn off my alarm?”

“You just looked so tired, Rose.  There was no harm in giving you a bit more time,” he told her.

“No harm?”  She narrowed her eyes at him.  “It’s one hour more we could have been in bed.  A girl might think you’d changed your mind.”

Awaiting the Appointed Hour

“Well, that’s kind of melodramatic, isn’t it?” Rose asked.

“One might think so,” said Romana. “That is, if one did not know how serious I am being.”

“Romana might be a bit pompous, Rose,” the Doctor said. “But she isn’t prone to exaggeration. If she says the fate of reality might be at stake, she means it.”
