He chose well with this one. He watched her rise. She was shaking with fear but her eyes had moved quickly to his and he knew, this one would do something. Her eyes flew about the warehouse searching for something, anything she could use. She’d found it, grabbed it, hacked it, swung, came to his rescue. That was the first time. She’s been saving him ever since. Never again with so grand a gesture. Just in a hint of a smile, a laugh, a glance, a hand that fit in his. He watched her rise until the day she fell.
