And the snow? It can really stop now. Okay, so it's been crazy this week, but I finally got my son caught up on all the school work he missed when he went down for the count for 3 weeks with a nasty illness. I did want to get back here and finish the meme, but this is really the first chance I have gotten. azriona asked for 12: Make up your own question. Her question: What's the story you WANT to write, but haven't yet, for whatever reason? (Or if you'd rather not tell us the story itself, what's the reason you haven't written it?)

If we're talking Doctor Who, I'd like to write the story that is alluded to in Boomtown when the Ninth Doctor, Rose, and Jack are in Kyoto in the 1300's. But the minimal amount of research I've done has told me that I have a boatload more research to do on the war that was going on at that time in Kyoto. But I don't have the time. And historical research is really needed to write a historical fiction piece. I've done enough reading to know that a fic set during these wars could be amazing, especially if Nine, Rose, and Jack are all trying to help on the side that isn't going to win. It is not something I want to give short shrift, too, either.

I would also really, really, really like to write a Doctor Who/Fringe crossover fic. I've been doing a Fringe rewatch and there have been so many times when I think that it would be so easy to cross Pete's World and Ten2 and Rose with alt!Livia and Walternate and them working for a version of Fringe Division in London and having to come together to solve something. I mean that universe had Zeppelins even, so it is not a stretch. And I've only ever seen it done by one person. There may be more out there, but not that I'm aware of. I've also thought about doing Nine/Rose investigating just what the heck original Walter has been doing all this time to shatter the fabric of the universe. I can totally see Nine in the Bridge Room lecturing. But that's never going to happen.

I also have 3 burning original novels that I desperately want to write, but until my son graduates from high school, I don't see how that is ever going to happen.

The first seven episodes of this season of Fringe has done fans no favors. First, Peter wasn't even in the first four episodes, and lets face it, Joshua Jackson's charm is a very big factor in why this show has been so good the first three seasons. We are treated to a third alternate universe, with characters that are just different enough that we don't even really care about them anymore. Then to add insult to injury the show takes a freaking long hiatus.

Today was a pretty good day.  I took Rose back to the oral surgeon for her one week follow up appointment and things are healing nicely.  He gave us another painkiller prescription in case she needed it.  Tomorrow I go to the doctor for my pre-operative appointment.  Let's hope I pass with flying colors because I do not want things to get postponed for something minor like a low grade temp or UTI.  The way I've been dosing with cranberry juice I don't think the UTI had a chance, but you never know and I do have to have a culture done.  *grumbles*

I wrote over a thousand words on the next chapter of Leap of Faith and I've basically written the next chapter of You're What? in my head.  I almost feel like my old writing self again.

Don't you hate it when you are reading one thing that seems like it's going to be this fun and neat thing and then it turns into something entirely different in the comments, resembling a bitchfest more than anything else, and you feel completely criticized even though you didn't even take part in the discussion at all and are just reading, and it totally bums you out for the rest of the day?  Fandom, why are you the way you are?

I may, of course, be overreacting to everything in life as I hurt my bad knee and it swelled up to the size of a cantaloupe and I went to the doctor and he withdrew 15 cc's of fluid and then shot me up with cortizone.  Will this never be over?

At least school is out.  No more 7 a.m. drop offs until September.

I am going to go bury myself in my writing.

sunfall_e, I will try to do that by the end of the month.  I had totally forgotten I had never finished it.

I bought seasons one and two of Fringe today.  This will make the rewatch much easier.  I hope it has commentaries and extras. ( Spoilers )

1.  People who do not use their blinkers to signal their intentions on the freeway during rush hour.

2.  People who tailgate when you are already going 5 mph over the speed limit and there is NO ONE in the passing lane, conditions are good, and they still will not pass you.

3.  People who pass you and then proceed to slow down to 5 mph slower than the speed limit.

4.  People that pass a semi-truck (lorry for you Brits) and do not give them enough room so that they have to slam on their brakes and fishtail, risking every other life on the freeway.

5.  People entering traffic who are supposed to yield but refuse to.


Can you tell I had to drive on the freeway today?

I appear to be over my writer's block (or perhaps canon cockblock is a better term).  Things are coming along slowly but surely.


I am rewatching Fringe. ( Spoilers if you've not seen Fringe and intend to watch it which you really should, I mean come on, JJ Abrams out Josses Joss )

Why are there not more Fringe/Doctor Who Pete's World crossover fics?  The setup is perfect, much better than some of the ones I've seen for other shows.

Really, even if you've never watched Fringe before, it's still great for the Doctor (Ten2) and Rose interactions and I think you'd fall in love with Olivia enough to give the show a shot just from this fic.

After viewing the first five minutes of Fringe tonight I am absolutely desperate yet again for someone to write a Ten2/Rose in Pete's World crossover.  I so love this show.  I want this show to mate with Doctor Who and have fanfic babies.

And did anyone else think of the window in the DW Fanfic Both by wishiknewwho when they saw this ep?  Oooh, that's who should write the crossover.  She has all the elements in place for it.  wishiknewwho do you watch Fringe?  Because if you do, you could so do this.  And if you don't, go, watch, enjoy, then come write the fic, pretty, pretty please? *grins*  Or you know, anyone else.
