amberfocus: (Fringe--Walter)
[personal profile] amberfocus
After viewing the first five minutes of Fringe tonight I am absolutely desperate yet again for someone to write a Ten2/Rose in Pete's World crossover.  I so love this show.  I want this show to mate with Doctor Who and have fanfic babies.

And did anyone else think of the window in the DW Fanfic Both by [livejournal.com profile] wishiknewwho when they saw this ep?  Oooh, that's who should write the crossover.  She has all the elements in place for it.  [livejournal.com profile] wishiknewwho do you watch Fringe?  Because if you do, you could so do this.  And if you don't, go, watch, enjoy, then come write the fic, pretty, pretty please? *grins*  Or you know, anyone else.

I mean, Zeppelins!  In Manhattan!  How can that not be a crossover fic?  Pete's world is the world that Walter stole alternate Peter from.  Technology 30 years in advance fits, too.  It's so perfectly perfect.  I wish I had time.

And oh, my heart broke for Walter and Elizabeth.  Walter actually wanted to do the right thing but he couldn't when he saw her face.  Guess he wasn't always quite as morally bankrupt as he is in other areas of his life.  And I loved that Peter knew Walter wasn't quite his father.  Oh, and the bit about Back to the Future starring Eric Stolz.  Guess he didn't get replaced in the AU.  Nice piece of trivia there, writers.

Maybe you can bribe, [livejournal.com profile] shinyopals to write it. I know for a fact she watches Fringe.

Yeah, I know she does, but I think she's got her hands pretty full with the alt_verse and school, though. She'd be perfect for it, though.

XD You flatter me!

(Late comment is late, but I found this post while doing the newsletter.)

NGL, I do really want to write something Fringe/DW ish, but I have no definite ideas at the moment and nothing that could be turned into a plot. Hopefully eventually I will, though.

*Needs Fringe icons*

Hmmm... I haven't gotten a chance to watch Fringe yet. I'm still trying to catch up with Big Bang Theory.

Get sick for a week. Then you can watch the entire series of Big Bang Theory without being distracted by life and stuff. Well, that's the way I did it. *grins*

Lol. I'd love to (in terms of the week off, not the sickness =P), but I can't miss more than one more class in Graphic Design or I'll flunk the course. And I'd really like to graduate...
So I guess I'll just have to settle for watching BBT and Fringe over the summer. ;D

I've got SO many people both at LJ and LVI who love Fringe, I wish I would've stayed with it because I'm apparently missing something awesome. *shamefaced* But every time I peeked in at the early episodes, they squicked the heck out of me with some slimey something jumping out of somebody (or something like that) so I gave up on it. Too bad they don't make a de-slimeyed ;) version with just the character interaction and all of the non-slimey stuff, lol! ;) (I've never quite recovered from an ep of X-Files where some large worm like thing slooooowly came out of a guy's mouth... *massive shudder* Okay, I've just given myself nightmares for a week. *sigh* ;) )

Creepy slimey things popping out of people just aren't my thing, what can I say? ;) I may still give Fringe another try, though, and hope that the slimey quotient is lower than it seemed like it was going to be. I'd love to get to see the stories themselves if they just can keep from squicking me out like there's no tomorrow! ;)

*has wandered off on a tangent, sorry* ;) Hope you find someone to do the crossover! :D *hugs* ♥!

Thanks for thinking I'd write a good crossover. I've never written one before and am generally terrified of them! :O

I THOUGHT SO TOO. I was like, oh wow, I bet Rose is there.

Also, I actually *love* Walter a lot, so I LOVED this episode because it was a Walter episode. And also really cool. And my heart also broke a little for Walter and Elizabeth.

I could certainly see the cast of Fringe working with Rose and Alternate Ten. I can just see the two geniuses getting side tracked together in their techno babble. Though it would require the transfer of her from the UK torchwood branch to the US. And working with the FBI and basically a ghost organization until something weird crops up. I must admit to not watching the second season yet, I've been saving up the episodes so I can watch them all in bulk together.

Another think I'm curious about is how the real doctor would handle the events in V or "the Visiters"

I thought the same thing when I saw the zeppelins!! Someone needs to make this happen. I need Fringe/DW crossover fic in my life. [livejournal.com profile] wishiknewwho if you are reading this, I will love you forever if you make this happen! :)

Oh noes! I do not watch Fringe (yet) and am terrified of crossover. Does this mean I lose out on being loved forever??? *makes sad face*

Well, to be honest, I was going to love you forever anyways. ;)

Oh, that is so sweet of you to say. Especially considering I've never written a crossover and generally think I would fail at it. ;) I cannot take credit for that window, and if Fringe's window is anything like mine, neither can they. I stole it from Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series.

I do not watch Fringe, but my husband is really pushing for us to watch it. At first, I didn't think it looked very good, but now the previews are pretty intriguing. Maybe I'll give it a go after I finish Bones. I make no promises of fic, though. ;)

if you do choose to watch fringe, you need you check out the first season first. and I understand your fears of crossovers. Most of them are little more than one shot fan services or worse. you really need to do your homework on both series to get them to mesh but if you do it right you will be amazing. There are maybe three authors I read that do crossovers really well. I actually found a really good Doctor who Firefly crossover if anyone is interested.

I may have already read it, but I'd definitely be interested in taking a look!

well considering there are so few worthwhile crossovers you probably have heard of it or read it before. It's called "The Man With No Name" and it's by the author Frostfyre7. I found it on Fanfiction.net. It's the only complete crossover though I've found one or two crossovers that have potential but are incomplete and have been for some time. If you haven't read it, happy reading.

Dang. I have read it... It really was an amazing fic. I read through it this summer when I was at home, and my parents limit my computer time, so I'd be in the middle of a chapter and Mum would go "That's enough time on the computer...." and my mind would be going "Noooooooo! Just one more chapter!" XD
Lol. I'll have to look through my crossovers sometime and see if I can dig up any recommendations for you. =) The majority of the good crossovers I've found have all been ficlets, drabbles, and character studies...

you probably know her other crossover with firefly as well and if you do like crossovers that have nothing to do with Doctor Who I recommend looking up the author Vathara. She's extremely gifted as an author She's written over 83 stories complete. and at least in my opinion the queen of making insane crossovers work. She's done various anime, Stargate, Ghostbusters, Gargoyles, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Airwolf, Avatar, Bleach, Kenshin, Star Wars and probably several others I can't remember. If even one of those interest you please check it out, She's so good you seldom need to know the other genre it's crossing over with.

I so love Fringe, it's not even funny! The second season won't air until july, at least, so I download it. Generally, I can find the new episodes with french subtitles three days after they aired in the States. Only two more days to wait. But I couldn't help it, I had to read the comments on some boards, to see what the episode was about. I have no will but hey, it's Fringe, I couldnt wait.

And yes, someone HAS TO write a crossover with our lovely Ten II and Rose.

i am so glad to hear I was not alone when my brain went BOING at the sight of those zeppelins through that window. I am a HUGE fan of Both and the associated fics and i will vote for wishiknewwho to write. And Fringe reminds me so much of Xfiles in story lines and character development - without the cumbersome weight of a too complicated subplot involving an alien/government conspiracy.

Fringe is a lot like The X-files! There's an ambiance, an X-file vibe in this show. I think that some of the writers/producers of Fringe worked on X-files. Hey, in one early episode of season 2, there's a crime in an appartment and when the murderer leaves, you can see Mulder and Scully on the television, which was on.

I don't watch Fringe but I watch Bones so I ended up watching the first few minutes of it last night as I hadn't yet changed the channel and after hearing alternate universe and seeing the zeppelins, I immediately sent a text to my friend telling her Fringe stole Pete's world.

I didn't realize how much I shipped Peter/Olivia until the ep before this one, when he got in her personal space, and I was all, "DO IT, PETER; kiss her!" And then whined when she ran off to save people instead. XD

But this episode-! Hooray for questions answered. And now we see Walter's first step down the path of wrongdoing and insanity.
