I don't know if many people are still on LJ, but if anyone is still around, I have this quote from some show or movie, I'm not sure which that has been driving me crazy trying to remember. It's something along the lines of the guy saying he's going to get out of the girl's way and the girl saying something like "What if I'm okay with having you in my way?" or "What if I like having you in my way?" or "I've kind of gotten used to you being in my way."

Does anyone have any clue what this is from? And what the exact quote is?

Does anyone know if you had Ladies' Aid Societies in the U.K or something similar.? Basically an organization of women that ran charitable events or fundraisers for schools or hospitals.

I know that the school in Human Nature/Family of Blood is called Farringham School for Boys, but is the village also called Farringham?

[livejournal.com profile] editrx needs help. I don't know if anyone out there on my f-list has the means to help, but I'm passing this along just in case. I don't know if you know the story, but it's been one medical crisis after the next and I know that if we didn't have insurance (it's been hard enough with it) we'd be sitting right in the same spot right now.

...and I haven't the faintest clue. I do not want to buy him a bunch of ebooks, but I know there are supposed to be a bunch of good, free books out there in the public domain. So how do I find them and then how do I get them on the Kindle? Talk slow and use little words please.

...or maybe a few. I feel like my brain is dry and empty and I need something to kickstart me into writing again. I figure if I can get a oneshot out, I might be able to finish something else that sorely needs finishing, but I am totally drawing a blank. And because I have not written smut in...well, whenever it was I wrote the last chapter of Leap of Faith...I feel like that might help the situation a bit.

Any takers?

A few years back there was a picture of the TARDIS wrapped in Christmas paper that was partially torn away. Does anyone have it? I've been looking for a while and can't seem to find it.

Does anyone have the Sony Vaio laptop model number VPCEA36FM/P?  It's the one shown here:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+VAIO+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i3+Processor+/+14%22+Display+/+4GB+Memory+/+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Pink/1245962.p?id=1218242192022&skuId=1245962&st=Sony Vaio laptops&cp=1&lp=5

It comes in either pink, purple, black or white.  It's the one I'm considering buying next because I'm getting colored lines on the screen of my HP that are getting too hard to ignore.  I've had them for a year but they've always been off to the side.  Now they are getting in the way.  I don't think I will buy HP again for numerous reasons even if they do have a good typeable keyboard (after almost two years nearly all the letters have worn off, never had that happen before).  I like Toshiba (not the Satellite pros but the better ones) but they are too heavy.  I like this one because it has a very typeable keyboard (good depression of the keys, light clicking noise, good spacing, nothing that makes my fingers trip, not too high or too low in the placement) which is my number one concern and because it weighs very, very little, which is my second concern since my wrists and hands are no good for carrying heavy things and I tend to take my laptop everywhere.

I like Sony Vaio as a brand.  My first laptop was one and it actually still works except for the fan which buzzes the whole time it's on and apparently is no longer replaceable.  It's ten years old and I'd still be using it if it didn't annoy the heck out of me with that buzz.  But I used it for four years before that happened.  I've been through a couple of Toshibas (a good one and a crap one and my husband has a nice one) and one HP since then but I don't think the quality was nearly as good.  Anyhow with this new one, I've read several reviews that says it has crap speakers.  So if anyone has it, how are the speakers?  If they are bad, is it alleviated by using good quality headphones or plugging in external speakers?  I watch a lot of TV and movie DVDs on my laptop, but I have no issue using headphones or speakers if they will cure the problem.

Also, if anyone has the purple one how dark is it?  It says violet but it looks very dark to me, more like eggplant.  They only had the white one in the store, the colored ones would have to be ordered.  I'm debating between purple and pink, but if the purple is very dark towards black then I'd go with pink.

I have a guess and check story problem I am trying to figure out so I can help my son figure it out and all I am managing to do at the moment is bang my head against the wall.  The problem is this:

Russell had just served up 55 cones, some single scoops, some double scoops, and some triple scoops.  If he served up a total of 103 scoops, how many of the cones were single scoops, how many were double scoops, and how many were triple scoops?

Usually I figure out guess and checks algebraically, but I can't do that here because there is not enough information and I've gone through two pieces of scrap paper trying to figure it out otherwise.  We didn't have bloody problems like this when I was in the fifth grade!
