Chapter Forty-two: Donna's Choice
Donna Noble opened her front door to see the Doctor standing there. She raised her hand threateningly and he took a step back from the door. She promptly shut it in his face. He rang the door bell again, every few seconds until she opened the door. “Git,” she said and slammed it in his face again. This time he leaned on the doorbell, not letting up.
“I can do this all day, Donna!” he shouted through the door.
Donna opened the door, reached out and grabbed him by the tie and forcefully dragged him into her house. “What do you want?” she snapped, folding her arms over her chest.

Chapter Forty: It's Christmas Time in the City
The Doctor and Rose were both surprised to walk into the Tyler mansion and see it all done up for Christmas. “Wow,” Rose said softly, staring at the nine foot tall Christmas tree that looked like it had come out of a home magazine and noting all the presents stacked under it. “I thought we’d missed Christmas.”

Chapter Thirty-six: Fury of a Tyler Woman
Rose tucked Dare into his crib, her hand cradling against his sleeping form for a moment before she sat down on the bed and hiccupped. Vortex energy left her body and she placed her hands over her abdomen searching for the tiny mind there. She had thought Dare would never calm down and sleep. He had felt Cassi’s regeneration. She was sure of it from the state of his own little mind. Cassi’s she couldn’t feel at all other than an unconscious turmoil and she had to seek hard to feel even that.
Tears fell down her face, had been falling since she’d walked into the TARDIS. Her child had just lost 1/12th of her lifespan in the space of five minutes and she didn’t know who she was madder at. Herself for taking the risk without knowledge, or her husband for failing as usual to give her the information she needed to make the right choices and refusing to ever deviate from what he thought was right. Not even for her.

Chapter Thirty-two: Broken Heart
The Doctor awoke cold and alone in his bed, the warmth of his wife missing. His internal time sense told him he had slept for ten hours. He knew he must have needed it if he’d slept for so long but Rose should have woken him up when she got up. She knew how worried he was about Donna.
Or perhaps that was why she had let him sleep. If there’d been no change, well, he wouldn’t worry while he was sleeping. That was the likeliest explanation. Rose probably figured she was well able to worry for the both of them. He decided that he might as well take a quick shower and put on a fresh suit. It would have to be the blue one though, and he knew Rose didn’t like it.

Chapter Thirty: The Power Over Life and Death
The next morning Rose was able to get up and around, though she still felt sore. Not being able to use the tissue regenerator right away after her injury meant that it had partially healed the old fashioned way and some of the nerves had twisted. It would take a lot of time under that machine to reverse that damage but right now, it was Donna who needed the machine the most, so Rose would hold off on fixing her own injury for a while.
She took in a deep breath as the nerves twinged but it passed after a few seconds and she continued across the room to where Donna lay, the Doctor sitting beside her and holding one hand. Rose rested her hands on his shoulders. “Any improvement?” she asked him.

Chapter Twenty-eight: Hunting Truths
The Doctor strode up to the Chieftain who had just finished blessing the hunters and sending them off to the hunt moments before the Doctor came through the back door. “You have stolen a member of my family from me,” the Doctor accused, his voice dark and cold. “I want her back. Now!”
The Chieftain looked up at him with clear, glittering eyes. “What has been done cannot be undone,” he said with a twisting smile. The sound of horns filled the village. “The hunt begins.”
“Call them off,” said the Doctor menacingly. “Do it now.”
