I need hugs. Specifically Doctor/Rose hugs. I'm looking for your very favorite hugging icons. If my readers would be so lovely as to respond to this post with their favorite Nine/Rose or Ten/Rose or both hug icons, I would be so very, very happy. Thanks, lovies.
And also, is it evil of me to wish a life changing event on Stephen Moffat that prevents him from manning the helm of Doctor Who in 2010? Because he's moving right up there in the want to slap him even more than RTD line, but for a far better reason. Does he really have to insult Rose? Does he not like the female portion of the fandom? *grumbles* Something akin to dropping him in a deep dark hole and only allowing him out to write one brilliant episode a year (like Blink) and making him stay in there if he tries to introduce another love interest would be good. This is why:

At this point I wouldn't even be adverse to him winning the lottery if it meant he'd stay away from Who and stop Rose bashing.

Date: 2008-08-04 03:51 pm (UTC)I think Moffat hasn't actually paid attention to some of the women he writes. I would consider any on them, except Sally Sparrow, needy.
I also don't know why the Doctor has to be unhappy. I get that he can't live "happily ever after" with any companion. He never did. The character has always just sort of been a loner, picking up companions along the way, but they never stay that long. But why should he be sad all the time?

Date: 2008-08-04 04:07 pm (UTC)I get the feeling that Moffat in all his episodes was literally doing the Moffat show. I love his writing, don't get me wrong. But he had a habit of conviniately forgetting important continuation points in favour of his own plot devices. The result being his stories jarring with the over arcing theme of the current season.
Unhappy Doctor I get has survivors guilt, but a lot of what they force his character through only pushes him into darker place. Seasons Two and four were great, you get this happy bouncy Doctor who is secure and in that has some of his finest moments. The moment in the mine shaft in Satan Pit being a good example, Volcano Day in Pompei. Then they just take it all away from him. Season three, not so good, end scene of season four (arrghhhhh). Anyway, I'm all for happy but with sad moments Doctor, they need to do that for the tone of the show. I think uber sad Doc would just serve to drive away viewers who just can't get on board with all the angst.
