...of a really good shampoo for oily hair?  Seems all they make these days are things to put more moisture into your dry or damaged hair and that's the last thing I need.  Also, I would prefer something that doesn't volumize hair at all.  My hair is super thick as it is and does not need that kind of help.  I don't care about price so much as performance.  And if it's a salon type shampoo, where it is purchased at.  And if I'm allowed to be picky I would prefer either clear or white shampoo, nothing that has been dyed (but I'll take anything at this point).  Scented is okay.

Day 01--What is your current favorite ship?

Doctor/Rose (Nine, Ten, or Ten2, I do not care, I ship them all).  That's probably a big duh for everyone on my f-list.  I don't know, there's just something about their relationship that I've found to be more satisfying than anyone elses on television.  Maybe it's the fact that they are just such good friends underneath everything.  That kind of friendship you rarely, if ever, find in television couples.  Maybe it's the fact that they fight like real people fight, and make up like real people make up.  Maybe it's that they would do anything for each other selflessly.  Maybe it's the chemistry that Billie Piper had with both Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant.  Maybe it's that they are the only couple that has ever inspired me to seriously write fanfic (though Jareth/Sarah from Labyrinth and Kyle/Elizabeth from the original V series and Buffy/Spike from Buffy each have one story to their names that will never see the light of day, thank you very much, the first two being written in high school and the last one long since lost on a dead hard drive and totally jossed by season seven anyway.)  Maybe it's the way they always had these amazing smiles geared specifically for the other.  Maybe it's the fact that their on-screen relationship was never consummated (or if it was we never got to see it).

I think the tragedy of them will forever linger in my mind.  So much loss occurred in their relationship.  Doomsday will likely always be the pinnacle to me of the saddest breakup in all TV history.  Their eventual reunion gave us like...five seconds of happiness.  And their happily ever after was not exactly happy for everyone.  ("Here, Rose, have a clone of me.  Bye-eee."  Vworp, vworp, vworp.  Except there was no Bye-eee, even.)  Still, it was the best we were ever going to get from a series like Doctor Who and I like to think Rose and Ten2 accepted things after a few hours of cursing Ten out and are happy together and consummating things quite frequently.

1.  Your main fandom of the year:  Doctor Who.

2.  Your favorite film this year:  I don't actually go to the movies very often.  Maybe once every two years or so.  I get everything on netflix later.  So my favorite film that I watched this year from netflix would probably be Push about a kid and a man with paranormal powers on the run when it's basically illegal to have paranormal powers and not be employed by the government.

3.  Your favorite book this year:  I seldom read actual books anymore, mostly just read fanfiction which is usually a lot better than what is coming out of the publishing houses these days.  If I do they are usually children's books I am reading to my son, or reading to check out for my daughter.  So...probably the young adult book Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.  It's a reinvention of the werewolf story set to a teenage romance with a strong female character who does not let herself or her personality be subsumed by the relationship and actually seems to be a good role model for teenage girls.  For my full review on it, see this post:  http://amberfocus.livejournal.com/363947.html

4.  Your favorite album or song this year:  Lady Antebellum's Need You Now, both the song and the album.  Makes me think of the Doctor and Rose, too.  It won't embed so here is the link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWWDm9x48ak

5.  Your favorite tv show this year:  The Big Bang Theory.  I started watching this show while recovering from knee surgery on a rec from [livejournal.com profile] arabian, who is a Penny/Sheldon fan and had put an emedded vid of them in one of her posts.  I thought it was cute and I was sorely in need of a distraction.  Although I didn't fall in love with her ship because I didn't even warm up to Sheldon until somewhere in season 2 (though I love him now) and there isn't even an inkling of attraction there for me to spark to, I did fall in love with the show.  It's clever, sharp, witty, snappy, intellectual, runs at a whipfire rate, and is so, so funny.  And I love the show's actual ship of Penny/Leonard.  (Shh, don't tell her I said so.)  What I really love this year is that Penny has been given actual friends in Bernadette and Amy, instead of random hot girls to run around with, and we are getting to see a different side to her that doesn't just relate to the boys.
