1. Your main fandom of the year: Doctor Who.
2. Your favorite film this year: I don't actually go to the movies very often. Maybe once every two years or so. I get everything on netflix later. So my favorite film that I watched this year from netflix would probably be Push about a kid and a man with paranormal powers on the run when it's basically illegal to have paranormal powers and not be employed by the government.
3. Your favorite book this year: I seldom read actual books anymore, mostly just read fanfiction which is usually a lot better than what is coming out of the publishing houses these days. If I do they are usually children's books I am reading to my son, or reading to check out for my daughter. So...probably the young adult book Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. It's a reinvention of the werewolf story set to a teenage romance with a strong female character who does not let herself or her personality be subsumed by the relationship and actually seems to be a good role model for teenage girls. For my full review on it, see this post: http://amberfocus.livejournal.com/363947.html.
4. Your favorite album or song this year: Lady Antebellum's Need You Now, both the song and the album. Makes me think of the Doctor and Rose, too. It won't embed so here is the link:

5. Your favorite tv show this year: The Big Bang Theory. I started watching this show while recovering from knee surgery on a rec from
arabian, who is a Penny/Sheldon fan and had put an emedded vid of them in one of her posts. I thought it was cute and I was sorely in need of a distraction. Although I didn't fall in love with her ship because I didn't even warm up to Sheldon until somewhere in season 2 (though I love him now) and there isn't even an inkling of attraction there for me to spark to, I did fall in love with the show. It's clever, sharp, witty, snappy, intellectual, runs at a whipfire rate, and is so, so funny. And I love the show's actual ship of Penny/Leonard. (Shh, don't tell her I said so.) What I really love this year is that Penny has been given actual friends in Bernadette and Amy, instead of random hot girls to run around with, and we are getting to see a different side to her that doesn't just relate to the boys.
6. Your favorite LJ community this year: Probably
dw_ficsearch. It has saved my sanity on more than one occasion and I can always count on it to help me find a lost fic or rec whatever I happen to be in the mood for at the moment.
7. Your best new fandom discovery of the year: The Walking Dead. Seriously. It's a zombie apocolypse put out by AMC. But oh, my gosh, it is so well written and so well acted with so much tension and you really, really care about the characters and sometimes they die. It's really gross though. The zombie makeup and the graphic deaths are disgusting. So don't be eating while watching.
8. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year: The one episode of Fringe (SPOILERS) where Peter slept with alt!Olivia and didn't realize she wasn't Olivia. I had more faith in Peter than that. In my mind he would have KNOWN. She was too different.
9. Your TV boyfriend of the year: Yeah, despite Peter's mistake in Fringe, still Peter Bishop (based more on the end of season 2 than anything in season three so far).
10. Your TV girlfriend of the year: Umm...Olivia Dunham, I guess, from Fringe. Or maybe Ilsa Pucci from Human Target. Or maybe Caroline from The Vampire Diaries. That's a tough one.
11. Your biggest squee moment of the year: At the end of season 2 of Fringe when Olivia and Peter kissed for the first time. Or possibly when I saw a Zeppelin in the Fringe alt!verse.
12. Your most missed old fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Oh, how I miss you so. Not that I was really in the fandom, but the show. Oh, that show!
13. Your fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to: Hmm...that's a hard one. I think I've pretty much dabbled in every fandom that I've wanted to. Well, maybe The Vampire Diaries a bit more. Mostly I just watch the show and I read two disparate fan versions of it on my f-list, one a Stefan/Elena fan and one a Damon/Elena fan (I go back and forth between liking the two ships and mostly just rabidly ship Caroline/Tyler at this point). But I've not really ventured into the fandom itself as I have no real desire to write fic for it. Though I will read it when it pops up on my f-list.
14. Your biggest anticipation of the new year: Season 2 of V. With the addition of Jane Badler (Diana from the original V miniseries and series) as Anna's mother, I can't wait to see what is going to happen. Plus I can't wait to see if Lisa's betrayal of Anna will lead to and what the red dust falling on the planet does to it. I don't think it's going to be the same as in the original because it was the Visitors who released it, not the resistance.
