“I’ll only get to have an hour with her,” the Doctor said nervously pulling at his bow tie.

Donna lightly slapped his hand away. “Leave it,” she said straightening it back up. “You undo it one more time and I’m not tying it for you again.”

“I’m 904 years old, Donna. I think I can tie my own tie,” he muttered.

My day and fic updates

So today was quite the productive day.  I wrote chapters 2 and 3 of Pushing the Boundaries and posted chapter two.  I've got 1000 words of ch. 33 of Of the Vortex done.  I plotted out chapters 34 through 40 of Of the Vortex Born, figured out how Jamie is going to get her memory restored, what the heck was up with the Ganyites and the Ritauels and how the story ends!  Excited on that one.  DH helped me brainstorm over a meal out.  Oh, he also helped me brainstorm the two follow up stories to Pushing the Boundaries in the Crossing Boundaries series.  They will be called The Boundaries of Temptation and The Boundaries of Desire.  At least those are currently the working titles.

Chapter Twenty-five:  Decision

Rose had drifted off to sleep, the stress of the past several days having finally left her body. The Doctor cuddled her closely, wondering how he would ever let her go again if she chose to stay behind and feeling an intense fear rise up in him that he would have to. He brushed her sweaty curls away from her face and kissed her forehead. He loved her more at this moment than he ever had in his life and he didn’t know if he could bounce back from losing her for a second time.

A searing pain shot through the Doctor’s head as the TARDIS shouted at him. There were no words, just an onslaught of pain, like a mental slap. “I know, I know!” he said to the ship and raced for the doors. He was through them in a heartbeat and racing across the lab before realizing that Rose was still in it, standing with her forehead pressed against the wall, her body shaking as she tried to compose herself.
