Chapter Twenty-seven:  Moon Bubble

“What are we doing here?” Rose asked her daughter Mairi in confusion. The day had been a long and confusing one for her. She’d been shagged rotten by the Doctor, had her hearts broken, had her hope restored when he’d proposed marriage, and was currently stewing in a fit of confusion. And now her eldest daughter had virtually abducted her and brought her to the outer edge of Dome Lambda with no other explanation then that her mother needed to come with her right now.

Chapter Twenty-eight:  Caught

Landon Tyler strode into his mother’s laboratory glancing around with a frown when all he saw was his sister’s head with its long, straight brown hair bent over a microscope instead of his mother’s new, jet black curls.

“Mairi, where’s Mum?” he all but barked at his sister.

“And hello to you, too, brother dear,” she said mildly turning around on her lab stool to look at him.

Chapter Six:  Tension

Teganna Tyler sighed and turned over the book she’d been studying for the past three hours.  What she had learned was making her sick to her stomach. “The more I read about the Orion pack hunters, the worse I feel,” she told Mars.

“What did you learn?” he asked, putting a finger down to mark his spot in the book he’d been reading.

                                                                          Chapter Three

The Doctor stood in the doorway to the verandah his eyes hungrily taking in the sight of his Rose leaning against the banister eating the plateful of nibbles she’d brought out with her. He stepped out behind her. “Beautiful night,” he said softly. She jumped and he apologized. “Sorry,” he said. “Didn’t mean to startle you.”

Rose turned to look at him and she smiled softly up at him, a smile that almost but didn’t quite reach her eyes. He ached to see the sadness his earlier self had put there. He nervously ran a hand through his hair and his heart skipped a beat as her eyes followed the motion, as they widened and her nostrils flared slightly. He remembered just how much she had always liked his hair after he’d regenerated. Well, he really did have great hair. He ruffled it again.
