I meet with the knee surgeon today at 10:30. Please keep your fingers crossed that I will be able to schedule surgery for this month and not January or February. I really don't want to have to give them $2500 right out of the gate for next year's deductible if I can squeeze it in this year when it's already been paid for. Also, it's miserable walking around on a torn patellar tendon so the sooner the better anyway.

Today was a high pain day, and not, surprisingly, from the incision site.  It's my knee.  It is killing me so much that I gave in and took a hydrocodone, but it really isn't helping much yet.  Or at all.  It's also kind of swollen on the inside and underneath is massively swollen.  I have not been doing anything that could have tweaked it.  In fact I did absolutely nothing today, but make a quick run to the store for cabbage and potatoes (and used the ride on cart) and go to my massage appointment.  I was fine until like 3 p.m. and then nasty burning pain out of nowhere.  I was in bed because I was wiped out (anything can wipe me out these days) doing nothing but reading and it just caught on fire.  Then it eased off around five so I could make dinner for the kids and then as soon as I finished eating, sharp, stabbing pain.  The last MRI was in January and it was clean, so I don't know what is going on.

[livejournal.com profile] mkejenkins you will be happy to know that I wrote 1,902 words on your Nine/Rose fairytale belated birthday present fic today.  I'm hoping to finish it up tomorrow or the next day.

I've got what the kids had last week and it is miserable.  My doctor will be back on Wednesday.  I really don't like running fevers especially when they can't make up their minds between whether or not to make you blazing hot or switch to chills.  The weather isn't helping.  We've got a windchill factor straight out of the Arctic Circle, with freezing rain and they are predicting snow where I used to live.  Being at sea level now has it's benefits, but it is still fricking cold.

On the bright side my knee doesn't hurt nearly as bad as it was.  I actually went down the two steps off the porch today without using a cane.  Progress.  Yay.  It still aches, but it's more of a dull and constant throb as opposed to a sharp, stabbing, shooting thing.  I've been off hydrocodone for a couple of days now, though I think I have a withdrawal headache from it.  Or that could be the yuck that I'm sick with.  It might be both.

Oh, Brit people, how rude is it to say something is bollocks on a level of one to ten?  Would it be okay for a teen rated fic?  Or is that more of an adulty swear?
