Life Viewed Through an Amber Focus

My surgery went very well, with a best case scenario of transplantation of my own tissue from inside the body and not outside the body or from a donor.  The doctor was very happy with the results.  I will have to see him in two weeks and then again a week after that.  I had thought it would just be one more trip, but no, I'll have to go down twice.  He says it will take about four months to heal all told and then we will talk about the second surgery in November depending on how much of the problem is still left.

Hey, everyone.  The vacation has been a whirlwhind and a lot of fun.  We're in Seattle now at the Inn at Virginia Mason and my surgery is set for tomorrow (Friday) morning at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time.  For those of you who pray, please pray that all will be well with the surgery.  I am more than a little nervous this time around.

Oh, my gosh, Netflix, what have you done?  Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate the new layout.  Hate the rolling titles.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.  What were you thinking?!  This does not in any way, shape or form make things easier for the user.  It's just flashy nonsense you don't need.

Does anyone have any experience with Tyler Rodan purses?  I've never heard of the brand before, but it looks to be solidly made.  It's a little pricey so before I buy it, I was hoping someone had one and could tell me if it's a good brand or not.  It has a long shoulder strap and it attaches through buckles instead of sewn directly into the purse.  And it's big enough for all my stuff without being huge.

Is Netflix down for everyone today or is just me?  I was streaming season six of Lost earlier and had to go pick up my daughter from school and when I got back I couldn't get back in to Netflix.  That was 2.5 hours ago.

It's become very clear to me these past three weeks that I've lost my mojo.  I'm taking a break from writing fanfic before I break.  Maybe a week or two to get myself together.  Maybe a month.  I don't think I'm done, but right now I just...don't know.  I'll probably still be around reading fic and commenting, maybe doing a meme or two, but I think it's better all around if I just don't try to write DW at the moment.

Does anyone know if prchung18 over on Teaspoon ever finished the fic Try?  I was going through my favorites at Teaspoon tonight and I know it was never finished there, but was it ever finished anywhere?  I'll even resort to ff.net if it's there.  It is such a good story and it was only supposed to have one more chapter and that's been...oh, gosh over a year ago, I think.  Maybe closer to two.  I don't know.  But it was one of the best Nine/Rose stories I ever read.  And I want to know how it ends.

I'm trying to remember the name of a fic I read last year when I was laid up after my surgery.  It was on both LJ and Teaspoon.  Nine had regenerated into Ten, but his essence didn't let go because he couldn't stand losing Rose when they'd had so little time together.  He hid in Ten's mind and got stronger and stronger and when Ten didn't find a way to get Rose back when she was trapped in Pete's world, Nine managed to take over and force Ten to go and get Rose.  They got her back and Nine kept Ten chained up and tortured in his head until Ten finally found a way to break free again.  Rose had sort of figured things out by that point.  There was a sequel written as well, at least on LJ.  I think it had the word madness in the title.  And the fic used an icon that was half Nine's face and half Ten's.  Anyone know what I'm talking about?  It's driving me crazy.

My postcard from London that crimedoc1 sent me arrived today!  It's got a nice view of Picadilly Circus on it and a phone box on the stamp.  Not a police box, but hey, close enough.  I put it up with the one sunnytyler001 sent me from Iceland.  By the way, crimedoc1, I am working on a little something for your birthday, but it's being a bit stubborn at the moment so it may be a few more days before it is finished.
