Fic Update
Oct. 3rd, 2008 09:38 pmIt's been slow going for me this week, but I think, think mind you, that I will finish the next chapter of Zeppelins in the next 24 hours. I've hit 3061 words and am lining everything up for the first confrontation with the alien menace, the Caligo.
As I said, it's been a rough week. Those of you reading my f-locked posts know what's been going on, but I'll say briefly here, we had a major issue with a very, very, very bad teacher at one school and some very poor judgment on the case of a couple of others at the other school and we have pulled both of our kids out of public school by their choice and signed them up with the state run Washington Virtual Academy or www.wava.org. They've taken their placement tests yesterday and today and we've been running around gathering all the necessary paperwork to fax in.
It's been crazy and I haven't had near the time to write as in the past, nor will I do until things settle down, and even then it's unlikely I'll produce the level of volume as I have done in the past. I think what I will end up doing is working on no more than 2 fics at a time. I'll finish them up before moving on and finishing some of the other WiP's. One of those fics will be Zeppelins. The other one will depend on what I feel like doing. Right now, all I feel like doing is writing Zeppelins, though, so maybe I'll only do one for a while. My Nine!Muse seems to have fled the building at the moment, so I probably ought to buckle down and finish Vortex while Ten!Muse is going strong. It's only planned to have seven more chapters.
So I'm going to be sort of homeschooling, more supervising with Rose, them in their correspondence/online courses. I'll still write as much as I can though. It's what keeps me sane.

Date: 2008-10-04 05:59 am (UTC)So, speaking for myself, I know I'll be glad with whatever you're able to write, however much you're able to write it! :D I'm still hoping that some of your speedy mojo will wear off of me because it's taken me nearly 2 months to write 6 chapters. Of one fic. *boggled* @_@ I'm so ashamed of how slowly I'm going but I just can't seem to speed it up. :S *swings butterfly net around your LJ, hoping to pick up some speedy mojo that's just hanging around in the air* :P ;)
Anyway, the bottom line is we'll be completely thrilled with whatever you're able to write, whenever you're able to write it! *more hugs* ♥♥♥!!!

Date: 2008-10-04 06:30 am (UTC)I'm sorry your kids are having such rotten luck with their schools. When I was in school there was no such thing as an online school, but I did use a state program to switch schools mid-high school and it was the best thing that could have happened at the time. The virtual academy looks really cool. I know it will take up more of your home time, but I hope it will be a good thing for your kids. I hope they can get past the bad experience and thrive in this new environment.
Write when you can. I'm sure we'll still be here. And on a purely selfish note, Zeppelins is my favorite fic of yours, so I'm glad it's one you plan on working on when time permits.
