Fic Update

It's been slow going for me this week, but I think, think mind you, that I will finish the next chapter of Zeppelins in the next 24 hours. I've hit 3061 words and am lining everything up for the first confrontation with the alien menace, the Caligo.

As I said, it's been a rough week. Those of you reading my f-locked posts know what's been going on, but I'll say briefly here, we had a major issue with a very, very, very bad teacher at one school and some very poor judgment on the case of a couple of others at the other school and we have pulled both of our kids out of public school by their choice and signed them up with the state run Washington Virtual Academy or www.wava.org. They've taken their placement tests yesterday and today and we've been running around gathering all the necessary paperwork to fax in.

It's been crazy and I haven't had near the time to write as in the past, nor will I do until things settle down, and even then it's unlikely I'll produce the level of volume as I have done in the past. I think what I will end up doing is working on no more than 2 fics at a time. I'll finish them up before moving on and finishing some of the other WiP's. One of those fics will be Zeppelins. The other one will depend on what I feel like doing. Right now, all I feel like doing is writing Zeppelins, though, so maybe I'll only do one for a while. My Nine!Muse seems to have fled the building at the moment, so I probably ought to buckle down and finish Vortex while Ten!Muse is going strong. It's only planned to have seven more chapters.

So I'm going to be sort of homeschooling, more supervising with Rose, them in their correspondence/online courses. I'll still write as much as I can though. It's what keeps me sane.

You do whatever you feel like you can, and we will be here to read them. Your family comes first. Hope things are going better.

I am happy for your kids and for you. *hugs* And we will just read and enjoy whatever you have time to write.

Wow. I don't seem to have access to your f-locked posts but I can certainly sympathize with you having problems with the public school system; we're not overly thrilled with ours either. But we don't have the home schooling option, unfortunately. This WA Virtual Acadamy thing looks amazing. Anyway, good luck and please - we all may love your fanfic but your family issues HAVE to come first.

*hugs!* Like has already been said (but that's not stopping me from saying it again myself ;) ), you have to have family come first. And you can only write what the muse is willing to help you with, after all! *sets up traps to lure your Nine!muse back* :D (Don't ask what a Nine!muse trap is baited with... :P ;) )

So, speaking for myself, I know I'll be glad with whatever you're able to write, however much you're able to write it! :D I'm still hoping that some of your speedy mojo will wear off of me because it's taken me nearly 2 months to write 6 chapters. Of one fic. *boggled* @_@ I'm so ashamed of how slowly I'm going but I just can't seem to speed it up. :S *swings butterfly net around your LJ, hoping to pick up some speedy mojo that's just hanging around in the air* :P ;)

Anyway, the bottom line is we'll be completely thrilled with whatever you're able to write, whenever you're able to write it! *more hugs* ♥♥♥!!!

I haven't seen your f-locked posts, and considering your prolific nature I was starting to wonder a little. So thanks for the update.

I'm sorry your kids are having such rotten luck with their schools. When I was in school there was no such thing as an online school, but I did use a state program to switch schools mid-high school and it was the best thing that could have happened at the time. The virtual academy looks really cool. I know it will take up more of your home time, but I hope it will be a good thing for your kids. I hope they can get past the bad experience and thrive in this new environment.

Write when you can. I'm sure we'll still be here. And on a purely selfish note, Zeppelins is my favorite fic of yours, so I'm glad it's one you plan on working on when time permits.

Good for you for taking a stand against bad teachers (I'm a teacher, but bad ones need to be sorted and taken out of the education system) I'm glad you found an alternative for your children because as everyone says, they come first.
Don't worry about your writing schedule, I for one (and many more above it seems) will read what you write whenever its posted.
Good luck with the home/online schooling *hugs*

Aw you poor stressed thing. Hope everything goes well for you and your kids. Have to say that online school thing sounds cool, don't have anything like it here in Ireland (not that I know of anyway), would've saved myself and my brother a lot of hassle when we were younger (primary school full of bad, bigoted teachers).
I love all your writing so anything you decide to keep doing will keep me happy (though I am addicted to zeppelins). Quality stuff love!

Just realised that last expression might not travel well, so "love your work" will have to do :)

You just have to do what's good for your kids and your family. Their education is so important. We can all wait as long as it takes for whatever fics you give us - Your fics are always worth the wait. *big brit hugs*
