Feeling Cruddy
Sep. 8th, 2008 12:17 pmWell, despite hugging porcelain pretty much for two days straight now, I have managed to get caught up on my comments and write quite a bit on Hunger Moon. I'm up to 1700 words now. I'm determined to finish this chapter. It's about the only thing that's keeping my head on straight. Why is it that children turn into absolute demons when you're sick? And is my husband ever coming home? I still haven't heard from him about what's up with his work alternate and he's supposed to be flying home today. *sighs*

Kids act up when a parent is sick because they are scared. Parents are supposed to be invulnerable (also omniscient, omnipotent, and better at sports than any major leaguer, apparently). When mom is sick, things are wrong. So they misbehave to force you to BE MOM. To get your attention and make you act normally again.
Feel better soon!

Date: 2008-09-15 01:50 am (UTC)Although I have recently had to work on the concept that being disabled is NOT a good thing, even if you do get to park in the "blue spaces" and jump the lines in Disney. They didn't realize that the benefits do not outweigh the disadvantages. My son finally got it last year when I had to miss almost all of his baseball games because I was having some serious problems and was in too much pain to handle walking to the field and sitting on the bleachers.
