The latest challege at [livejournal.com profile] then_theres_us needs more voters:  http://community.livejournal.com/then_theres_us/211794.html  There are some lovely offerings this time.  The prompt was magic and many of these are very magical in more ways than one.

Guess what I've been working on (besides prompt gathering for the ficathon?)  You're What?  I should have a chapter finished today.  Also been working on TTT and LoF.  And thinking very hard about Pink Moon.  (No, not Zeppelins 'verse, unfortunately.  I am in a decidedly Nine mood at the moment).

I mainlined Dancing with the Stars off of abc.com this weekend.  I only watched the dance shows and the last five minutes of the result shows (because I don't need to actually waste my time being held in suspense while they advertise for the new singles or new albums of artists andwhat's that to do with the competition, it just drags it all out?)  I have issues with one of the stars being basically a professional dancer at the beginning, I don't think that's what the show is about, but aside from that I totally fell in love with Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer and was thrilled they got to the finals.  I will say that if I never hear Cacada's Evacuate the Dance Floor ever again, it will be no big loss and I used to like that song.  Now, it and x-box and the game dance central will be things I stay far, far away from.  It was on every single commercial break from episode four through episode nine.  And that's a lot of commercial breaks.  I remember when you got a 30 second short every 10 minutes when you watched off their site.  Now it's like watching it off the TV, only with no variety.  Do they realize they're advertising is having the exact opposite effect of what they are intending.  Saturation is NOT good.

Chris's first paycheck came in the mail yesterday.  I don't know how they managed it.  It's dated 11/26 and had to come all the way from Anchorage.  TARDIS Express?  When it absolutely positively has to be there yesterday?  Or magic.  Either way, woo hoo.  No more stretching the budget like it was taffy.  Still, no going crazy either.

WooHoo! The muses are speaking to you again. I am going to the grocery store right now, but I'll be back in about an hour and then all day and absolutely available to beta pronto. Do I seem a bit too eager? LOL

Yay for ficcage, no matter which Doctor it is!

I was very very happy Jennifer won DWTS, but I would have been good with Kyle winning as well. As long Bristol didn't win. She just was nearly on the level of Jennifer and Kyle, and had no business being in the final three. It was painfully obvious that the only reason she made it as far as she did was because of her mother's supporters and ultimately the right person won (Okay, I'm biased about who ultimately won as I'm a Dirty Dancing fangirl. But I wouldn't have shot my TV set if Kyle or Bristol had won either. Though I might have not been inclined to ever watch the show again if Bristol had won.).

Glad to hear the paycheck came in. The Doctor must be playing Santa this year. ;-)

Well, I'm not a fan of Bristol's mother, but I liked the girl a lot and thought she was better than say the two professional sportsmen. And she had a much nicer attitude than Brandy (who I've always liked, but thought was acting kind of arrogant towards the end). Was Bristol a talented dancer? I think she was in the middle of the pack, but she was sweet and she and Mark Ballas had such charming chemistry I kind of adored them for that alone. Sometimes I root for the dance intstructor and NOT the dancer. *laughs* I think Jennifer had an unfair advantage from the beginning. Even with her previous injuries she still had the training and moved better right from the start. I liked her, of course, (Dirty Dancing is one of my favorite movies of all time) and she absolutely belonged in the finals, but I would have rather seen Kyle win. He didn't whine and complain, he just worked really hard the whole time. He had great charisma and charm and chemistry with Lacey that went off the charts. And I think Audrina should have been in the finals with Jennifer and Kyle. *laughs* I have feelings about it, obviously, but not enough to watch it live and vote.

Got no problem with people having feelings about the show, can't say it at least doesn't inspire a lot of emotion (which is more than I can say for American Idol the last couple of seasons).

At least nobody shot their TV sets after thei finals.

Congrats on the writing and I completely agree about the advertising. I watch on occasion FRINGE on Fox and I ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT watch Glee because of that advertising thing. I DON'T CARE if I EVER see it now. And I was thinking of watching it.

I've pretty much boycotted FOX after Dollhouse was cancelled. I have not seen a single episode of Fringe beyond the pilot.
