Criminal Minds

So someone tried to break into our old house today in broad daylight. I will never understand the criminal mind. The house is clearly marked with big ADT security signs in three different places. It has ADT security stickers on every single window. Real brilliant choice, moron. It's only got one side that isn't exposed to full view and even that side is a bit because not all of the trees have filled in their leaves yet. Yeah, sounds like a smart house to jimmy one of the windows open on. And it just happened to be the one that is wired into the security system. The other windows have pegs you have to take out to open the windows as well as unlocking them. And the rest of the house is covered by motion sensors so if you step foot out of any of the bedrooms it goes off.
Anyway, they did manage to jimmy the lock and the police found it open about 2 inches, but the alarm scared them off and they didn't take anything. They didn't even go inside, they just rabbited, it sounds like. Not that there is anything in that house that we really care about except the piano, which would hurt if it had to be replaced because I love my piano, but since we got it for free I wouldn't be out any money. It would be hard to steal a piano of course, but it could have been vandalized.
I'm just glad Chris came home yesterday because I wouldn't have wanted to deal with this by myself. We spent a good portion of the day out there sorting everything out and I still have dinner to make and about 3 hours of homeschooling lessons to do since we lost most of the day. If I have time tonight I'll post the next chapter of Leap of Faith. If not, I'll post it tomorrow.
amyo67, I hope all is going well with your son's surgery today. Thinking of you, praying for you, and crossing everything I can cross.
