Do you have a British organization like the Boy Scouts of America? I know you have Girl Guides instead of Girl Scouts, but what is it for boys? Thanks.
And girls can join Boy Scouts of America, btw Since when? My brother was a boy scout and I had to join a Girl Scout troop. (bratty girls are bratty/I was only there to sell cookies)
But I guess if I had been in the Boy Scouts they wouldn't have let me sell the Cookies. Cause besides the Girl Scout Camp (which I found out I didn't have to be a Girl Scout to go to) that was the only reason I joined.
My sister was in a Boy Scout troop for a while when she was younger. Mostly because she was determined never to be left behind, and there weren't any Girl Scout troops in our area. This was in, oh, the mid '70s? I was little.
I think the Brady Bunch did a (terribly sexist, of course) episode where the girls wanted to join the Boy Scouts so they could prove they could do anything the boys could. It's been around for a while.
Well I'm not 100% sure of Boy Scouts, but my daughter regularly participates in my son's Cub Scout pack. A parent must attend all meetings and register with the cub scout. So loads of other siblings attend meetings too. And I know boys can join Girl Scouts as my troop has had them. (Ok he was the head leader's son and it was more for insurance reasons, but he was a registered member of the troop)

Why can't America just have Scouts?
