Zowie, what a decision! *paces while she thinks* Obviously your muse gets the final word but while she's mulling things over, here are my two cents. ;)
I've actually been wondering which direction you would go with this, especially since we're coming up so quickly to PotW. I'd think one important thing to consider is how do you feel about this series as a whole. Have you meant it to be literally canon, that this was what was actually going on between the episodes? Or is it a sort of quasi-canon, this was what could've been happening between the eps? To me, that would determine what would feel like a more satisfying direction for this series. If, in your own mind, you've kinda given canon some wiggle room, ;) then it'll work for you and the muse to add in things that didn't actually happen in the show.
Of course, depending on how long series 2 was supposed to have gone on, then you could always fit a pregnancy into show canon by saying that Rose lied at the end of "Doomsday" and she was actually the one who was pregnant, not Jackie, and she just didn't want to tell him. (Personally, I wouldn't think that Rose would've kept something like that from him but of course, you can sell me pretty much any storyline in the world and I'll happily buy it! ;) )
It's also kinda hard for me to vote for anything at all that "destroys" Nine. Ten has really grown on me, especially lately, but he really doesn't want to put me in a throw-down between him and Nine, lol! ;)
I think Nine has pretty much bribed your muse into veering off into timebabiez, lol (like I said before, I don't have anything against baby!fic, though I don't generally seek it out, either) but that could be an interesting direction to take it. I particularly like lillibetm3's suggestion about going through PotW, but instead of Nine regenerating, he or Rose is changed that last little bit enough so that they're compatible. ;)
I would definitely be interested in seeing ANY version that you ultimately decide on, of course. But I think in this series at least, there should probably be timebabiez for somebody, mainly because the Doctor and Rose both were so very disappointed that she wasn't pregnant and so it's been introduced into the series as an "issue" (if that makes sense) and so now it seems you'll need to deal with it either in a happy (they get their timebabiez!) way or sad way (Ten gets Nine's timebabiez -- which sounds like a crack!fic, huh? O_O ;) ) but to just kinda drop it after it's been brought up so strongly will probably not feel like a satisfying direction for the muse.
*looks at size of comment* Holy moly, why didn't I just write my own story, huh? o_O ;) And I still can't quite decide which one to vote for, lol! I really can see ANY of them being handled brilliantly by you, so that makes it a really tough call! ;)
Well, you've definitely given me a lot to think about, that's for sure. I'd say it's quasi canon, it could be happening between episodes and there is wiggle room.
