Fic Update

I just finished chapter 31 of Zeppelins and sent it off to Amy for beta.  I had been hoping to get it finished sooner, but the muse decided the chapter wanted to be closer to 4000 words instead of 3000 words, so I went with it, especially since it's been a while since the Zeppelins muse has been in full swing.  Definitely didn't want to jinx it.  So if all goes well, I should be posting it sometime on Thursday, probably late morning or early afternoon Pacific time, depending on what Amy has to do tomorrow morning.

Philia emerged from the Time Vortex in precisely the same place she had just vacated. Cassi checked the controls to be sure that at least six months had passed. She searched the surrounding area for signs of her parents’ TARDIS and sighed in relief when she located it.

Massive Flooding and Evacuation

Hey.  It's been one heck of a day, people.  Started with a brief power failure at 3:45 a.m.  caused by a massive mudslide.   Power was restored shortly thereafter but it took down the phone, cable and internet connection.  The rain has been so bad and the snow melt run off so high that almost every road has been closed.  The creek that is only .2 miles from our house has completely covered the road in nearly a foot of water.  The main highway is closed.  The river jumped its banks.  Every creek between my home and the river has flooded.  Run off from the foothills has covered vast stretches of land and the highway.  I have lived through many a flood season and have never seen it so bad before.

During her break between classes Wednesday morning, Timothy Marrow takes Rose to meet Rebecca Hollister, the artist who is currently roommates with their friend Sarah Dunne and then leaves them alone to get to know each other a bit, promising her that both he and his motorcycle will be back to get her to her robotics lab in time. The girl is a pleasant brunette and the flat is nice. It’s bigger than the one she shares with her mother, with three bedrooms, one of which is Rebecca’s art studio.
