A/N: This chapter is not work friendly people. It's an NC-17 rating. Thanks to JeopardyFriendly as usual for the fast and efficient beta and special thanks to amyo67 for holding my hand when I freaked out about posting this and reassuring me that I was panicking over nothing.
Restraint
“About time,” Rose groused when the Doctor finally appeared in the library doorway with a bottle of water and the glass tank he’d put Davin’s Lurvins into. The Doctor didn’t reply, went straight to her and reached for her temples, quickly removing the blocks he’d put in her brain. His presence sprang back into her mind and they both sighed in tremendous relief, the Doctor’s whole body shaking for a moment, at the resumed contact. A tension she didn’t realize she’d had left her body and her thought process began to sort itself out into a more rational one. She hadn’t realized how badly not having an active link to him had made her feel.

Chapter Twenty-four: Like A Lamb
The morning had been pretty ordinary. Donna, Rose and the Doctor had all eaten breakfast, and the Doctor had gone out for a bit to get something from the TARDIS. He’d left the sonic screwdriver behind for Donna and asked her to use it to tighten up Dare’s crib. She’d done that task and had spent the rest of the morning making sure of Rose’s comfort and reading a book to her. When the Doctor returned he sent her off to see what she could discover.

Chapter Twenty-six: Donna's Decision
Donna checked her watch. It was more or less set to local time, as closely as it could be to a planet that had a twenty-six hour day, anyway. She was getting quite hungry and it seemed like the promised food was not forthcoming. She turned on her side and yelped painfully, then sat up and dug in her pocket for what had hurt her. A slow smile spread over her face as she realized she still had the sonic screwdriver in her pocket. That meant a chance for escape.

Chapter Twenty-eight: Hunting Truths
The Doctor strode up to the Chieftain who had just finished blessing the hunters and sending them off to the hunt moments before the Doctor came through the back door. “You have stolen a member of my family from me,” the Doctor accused, his voice dark and cold. “I want her back. Now!”
The Chieftain looked up at him with clear, glittering eyes. “What has been done cannot be undone,” he said with a twisting smile. The sound of horns filled the village. “The hunt begins.”
“Call them off,” said the Doctor menacingly. “Do it now.”

Chapter Thirty: The Power Over Life and Death
The next morning Rose was able to get up and around, though she still felt sore. Not being able to use the tissue regenerator right away after her injury meant that it had partially healed the old fashioned way and some of the nerves had twisted. It would take a lot of time under that machine to reverse that damage but right now, it was Donna who needed the machine the most, so Rose would hold off on fixing her own injury for a while.
She took in a deep breath as the nerves twinged but it passed after a few seconds and she continued across the room to where Donna lay, the Doctor sitting beside her and holding one hand. Rose rested her hands on his shoulders. “Any improvement?” she asked him.

Chapter Thirty-two: Broken Heart
The Doctor awoke cold and alone in his bed, the warmth of his wife missing. His internal time sense told him he had slept for ten hours. He knew he must have needed it if he’d slept for so long but Rose should have woken him up when she got up. She knew how worried he was about Donna.
Or perhaps that was why she had let him sleep. If there’d been no change, well, he wouldn’t worry while he was sleeping. That was the likeliest explanation. Rose probably figured she was well able to worry for the both of them. He decided that he might as well take a quick shower and put on a fresh suit. It would have to be the blue one though, and he knew Rose didn’t like it.
