amberfocus: (Ianto One of those Days)
My faithful beta JeopardyFriendly is sick.  Too sick to beta right now. :o{  Poor girl.  It sounds like she has what my kids have.  All kinds of nasties circulating in the county right now, so I'm not surprised.  If my kids were well, I'd go take her some soup.  She likes the egg flower soup from the same Chinese place I do.  Of course, she's in town so it'd be easier for her to get there than me anyway, even if she would have to take the transit down from the university, the busline goes right in front of the restaurant and it's on one of the go routes so there's a bus every fifteen minutes past it.  She's going into finals with this awful bug.  I feel so bad for her.  What a way to end your junior year.

Meanwhile, I've shipped my chapters over to my backup beta raspberrykitten2717, but she's a lot slower at getting stuff back to me because she has a much busier real life than Jep does.  She was hoping to have one done tonight, though.  We'll see.

Rose went to school today but called me at 2:00 to come and pick her up, so I'm going to just keep them both out through the end of the week.  The school talent show is tomorrow and neither one wants to miss it, but its not worth it to contaminate their classmates.  Although they picked it up from school, I'm sure.  Still, I don't want to be galivanting in this lovely rain halfway through the school day because they decided they can't make it through a whole day.  That'll give them the weekend at home and then maybe they can get through the last six days of school uninterupted.

Having them home is really interupting my writing time, so things will probably be slower on updates for that reason, too.  But I do have three finished chapters with raspberrykitten2717 so something will be coming.  And I'll be posting You Reap What You Sow regularly since it was beta'd the first time I posted it somewhere.

Chapter Three:  A Lullaby and A Bedtime Story

Donna left them alone and the Doctor went over to Rose and held out his hands for the baby. She handed him to his father, being careful to cradle his head and neck as she passed him off. The Doctor carried him over to the changing table in the corner of the room. Rose stood up and followed him. “Can you…” She hesitated until he turned to look at her, one hand holding Vandarian firmly in place. “Can you teach me how to do that?”

“Change a nappy? You’ve never…?”

“Not that I remember,” she said and then continued disparagingly. “Right useless mum I make.”
