Andromeda Rising Chapter 1A

A/N:  This is the sequel to Post Pomp, but it is more Jack's sequel, than Ten and Rose's sequel although they are in it with most of their children and grandchildren.  Cassi and Daniel Harper are in it, as well as the girl who will become the love of Jack's life, the Doctor and Rose's granddaughter Andromeda Harper.  The timeline for this story runs like so.  It has been ten years since the events of Post Pomp for Jack Harkness.  He is 33 years old and he is about to embark on the two years that are missing from his memories.  It has been closer to 40 to 45 years for the Doctor and Rose (who were reunited in the Time Eternal series).  Cassi is about a year and a half to two years from being sent back in time to the events of Post Pomp.  Yes, it's that timey whimey.  And I do play fast and lose with a few things to do with piloting TARDISes and such, but since he's the last non-hybrid Gallifreyan, I figure the Doctor can make it up as he pleases.

Chapter 1A:  Bittersweet

“Cassi, be reasonable,” the Doctor said sweetly looking at his eldest daughter and trying to keep his exasperation out of his tone. Rose Tyler sighed.  Cassi Harper was the most sensitive, arrogant, and if truth be told annoying, of their six children and easily lost her temper, at least with her father.  Not that he didn’t sometimes deserve it, but Cassi could go off faster than Rose’s mother at times and that was saying something.

Andromeda Rising Chapter 1B

                                                         

Chapter 1B:  Bittersweet

“She’s under my protection. I’m sure you can find a suitable dance partner elsewhere.” The boy backed off further at the man’s steely tone. He shot one more dark, reluctant glance at Andromeda before moving away.

The man behind her dropped his hand from her shoulder. “You okay?” he asked.  She turned around prepared to tell the man that she had been perfectly capable of taking care of herself, though truthfully at the moment all thought of self-defense techniques had fled her mind, but all that came out was silence, her mouth forming a surprised little ‘o’ as she looked at him.

Planning Stages

Yeah, so alt!Nine is sulking now that Nine's going strong.  Men!  You'd think they could be happy for each other, but neither one is happy unless they're the one about to shag Rose, currently shagging Rose, or have just finished shagging Rose and are thinking ahead to the next time they get to shag Rose.  So rather than bang my head against the wall that is chapter ten of Hunger Moon, I rewrote the first chapter of Andromeda Rising last night and posted it to my journal.  I am changing things, a bit more than a rewrite, to accommodate some of Torchwood season 2.  There are things that won't change, like Owen, but he's a very minor character in this anyway.  I'm keeping Owen the way I have him in all my stories and canon can go and whistle.

Nick Daniels was sitting in the cemetery next to his wife’s grave when the TARDIS materialized. It had been a year since he had put Rose in the ground. Tonight he had looked up at the stars waiting for the one that would shoot across the sky. But instead he had heard a strange grinding noise and turned his head to see the large blue box materializing in front of him.

Rose Tyler was glowing with her success at achieving her scholastic dreams. Going back to school after she had lost the Doctor hadn’t been an easy choice for her, but she found that the actual school work had been simple, far simpler than it would have been had she never dropped out and taken the courses normally at the appropriate time. Travelling with the Doctor must have expanded her brain power or her ability to absorb information and use what she knew. Perhaps it was listening to all his lectures. She smiled at the memory. Her Doctor would be so proud of her.
