Yeah, so alt!Nine is sulking now that Nine's going strong.  Men!  You'd think they could be happy for each other, but neither one is happy unless they're the one about to shag Rose, currently shagging Rose, or have just finished shagging Rose and are thinking ahead to the next time they get to shag Rose.  So rather than bang my head against the wall that is chapter ten of Hunger Moon, I rewrote the first chapter of Andromeda Rising last night and posted it to my journal.  I am changing things, a bit more than a rewrite, to accommodate some of Torchwood season 2.  There are things that won't change, like Owen, but he's a very minor character in this anyway.  I'm keeping Owen the way I have him in all my stories and canon can go and whistle.

Yeah, so anyway, chapter one is done.  I'm always a little unsure about Andromeda Rising because it has so many original characters in it. Yes, it has Jack and yes it has Rose and the Doctor, and Martha and Dare.  No wait, Dare's not canon, no matter how much I think he should be.  And then there's the fact that Andromeda's only sixteen, which was such a throwaway line in To Call Our Own, but is it my fault she insisted on lying about her age?  *Growls*  I've made it so that sixteen is a fully grown adult by Gallifreyan standards, because it really says nothing about the young of that race.  So I can make it up.  But since she's a hybrid, well, I don't know.  Hope it doesn't come across as squicky.  Girls her age do this sort of thing all the time, lie about their age and run off with older guys.  Still, it is a love story.  Don't know why I didn't just change that bit a bit.  But the plot bunnies work the way the plot bunnies work.

I made two banners for Andromeda Rising also.  One has a very young Billie Piper and the other has a mid-thirties John Barrowman.  And because I was bored I made the icon attached to this post based off a quote that Rose says about Ten in You Reap What You Sow when she's lost her most recent memories and is comparing him to his former self of "Before he was the Oncoming Storm.  Now he's just sort of the Oncoming Puppy-Dog Eyes."  Of course, she doesn't know how deceptive that is at that point, but still I thought that picture was perfect for it.  I mean he could just shake his head in that photo and you'd go, "Who's my little Ten?  Who's my little Ten?  Whos' a good puppy?"  *ruffles fur* *I mean ruffles hair*  Okay, maybe that's just in my mind.

I'm also working on chapter two of Have and the smut bunnies are out in full force (so the reason why alt!Nine is moody).  Vortex is being stubborn.  My Ten muse is on vacation, I think.  Maybe after Have is done it'll come out.  A few people have asked me how I'm going to handle Boomtown, and I'm assuming that's because of Mickey and that little let's go to a hotel scene they have that gets thwarted when the Rift starts to open.  I haven't thought too much about it.  I think there's only two options really.  Rose and the Doctor having a bruising fight that leads Rose to seek comfort in Mickey or she decides to go with him to the hotel to let him down easy (without sex).  I'm thinking probably the bruising fight.  Or maybe, oh, I could go with the whole "This was a mistake, we never should have done this," angsty mess-o-Doctor-matic bit.  The whole, "I thought you could handle it but you're only a human" route.  Because yes, Nine could be a jerk like that.  But...but...but I want them to be happy so...pfttt!  I don't know.  I guess I'll see when the time comes.

Still sick.  Still trying to sleep.  Not winning either battle.

Poor alt!Nine,I'm sure he won't have long to wait lol!

Looking forward to the 'Boomtown' part, I always felt when watching it that they'd both made a giant step in DD with each other, but then something must have happened as they were both holding back again in Boomtown.

Oh, now you're using sexy Peter Carlisle icons. No fair! Glad you like my icon, he just really does look like a puppy there.

With Boomtown, I think they didn't have quite a cohesive grip on where the whole series was going and the Doctor/Rose dynamic between all the different writers. One thing I do notice in Boomtown though is that when the four of them are together, Rose takes the Doctor's hand even though Mickey is right there. And that tells me something loud and clear.

I am sorry you are still not feeling well and can't get the sleep that you need.

This post had me cracking up at times. Alt!Nine sulking as his earlier self (okay, I do understand that it it a totally different universe but come on- of course he could also still be upset that because of Jackie his wife isn't feeling quite up to things, oh and he doesn't have that nice pink fog any more *pets Alt!Nine) is getting some. What about poor Ten, he hasn't gotten any in ages. I am quite surprised he isn't about to come after you.

What, Dare isn't canon??? No, no, no- I know he is canon. I remember his birth. Don't worry too much about AR. It is an excellent story and I am excited to read the changes (I have to wait till most of it is posted to read or I will get all excited and jump over to Teaspoon and read the whole thing there). Yes, Andromeda is 16, but she is not your typical 16 year old. Look at what she has done with her life, so don't worry.

As with "Boomtown" all your ideas are excellent. Don't stress about it too much. I mean Rose and the Doctor are close the entire episode so you can make a case for any of the plot lines you have outlined. Just let it come, it could even be something that Rose just doesn't want to hurt Mickey and agrees, but is trying to find away around the awkward situation she has now got her self into. Don't worry, it will come. We all trust you too.

I did finally fall asleep. I think I may have to get some OTC sleeping meds though, this is getting ridiculous.

Well, er...um...Ten lives in a blissed out place of always getting some from post reunion Rose behind the scenes. So does alt!Ten for that matter. So I'm not really worried about him pulling a pout.

Do remember that AR isn't finished over at the big T and you'd run out of story halfway through, too, if you get tempted.

I know it's hard to believe Dare isn't canon. He's done so much!

Sorry you still aren't feeling well and can't get the rest you so richly deserve. But thank you so much for all the updates.
As for Boomtown, if you are taking suggestions, I vote for whatever scenario has them not fighting or nine being a jerk and backing off. But that's just me.
I look forward to HM chapter 10, but I know your extremely busy and still fighting something, so take your time and most importantly take care of yourself.
As for AR, I agree with nattieb. She's done a lot in her short life and like you said she may be of age as far as Gallifreyan customs. Don't worry, it's a great story.
