Pain is Being One

Pain is being such a...well, pain right now.  Ch. 3 has had so many false starts I'm not sure when it's going to come out right.  I blame it on Nine and Rose.  Well, mostly on Nine.  But Rose is right in there, too.  They keep wanting to have sex Right Now, when I've made it very clear to both of them that they are going to have to wait until the next story in the series.  Rose is sort of off in the corner pouting, but more or less accepting it with a decent amount of grace, but Nine is in full-on sulk mode.  He doesn't want to have a conversation about feelings.  The only thing he wants to be feeling is Rose!  I think he's particularly annoyed because alt!Nine got his, AGAIN, but here he is still WAITING, because I'm too stubborn to give in and let him jump the gun, or jump Rose, as the case may be.  Darn stubborn character!

I may have to skip ahead and write the next story out so they can get their sex out of the way and then go back and write the lead up to it.  I don't generally like writing out of order, but I've been known to do it on the occasions where the characters get their stubborns on.  Like now.  That usually happens before smut.  I see a pattern, here.

I mean, I know he's a sexually repressed Time Lord who hasn't gotten his mojo on in centuries, but really...if he's waited this long, what's one more chapter?  Just because he's ready now doesn't mean it's time.

Although...hmm...I wonder...  No, wait that's just Nine again disguising his voice and trying to convince me that maybe they could have misunderstood sex.  Something along the lines of they have it, but each thinks the other only wants a one time thing, when they both want it to be more...but no, that won't quite go with Rose turning him down because of that very reason in the last chapter.

Might as well go and bang my head against the wall now.  It's not like I'm getting any sleep tonight anyway.

Doesn't everyone? *blinks innocently* I have dialog going in my head a lot of the time. When I was writing Wolf Moon they would not shut up! Constantly nattering on. They're not quite as vocal at the moment. I don't know if it's a writer thing, a prolific writer thing, or if I'm maybe just a little bit off. *grins*. Maybe both. Ah, well. I like living just a little left of center.
