I'm Home and a Request
Mar. 2nd, 2009 01:05 pmHey, everyone. We dragged ourselves in slightly after midnight last night, but we are all home safe and sound. First order of business this morning was to send off my last of five reviews to
azriona that I wrote on the plane. I meant to do it last night but pretty much just fell into bed and zonked immediately.
Suze made me a lovely new banner for my LJ of Zeppelins' Jonathon and Rose but I've no clue on how to put it in there. Is there someone who could tell me how to code it? This is what it looks like:

Now - when can I expect my next fix of fic? Ten minutes? Excellent!

Smooth Sailing by Michael Raffoul (Not that you see ANY of Midnight's coding or colors on mine).
Just tell me what that is. I'm familiar with the two languages I mentioned and can probably figure any other ones out in a few minutes.

I think that's what you're wanting.

Go to Customize Journal, then Custom CSS. Leave the dropdown thing at "yes" and just put this in the big css field they give you. Save changes, and refresh your journal.

Date: 2009-03-02 11:09 pm (UTC)Sorry it took so long to get the graphics straightened out. That's what happens when I'm working on this stuff in the wee wee hours of the morning. ;)
And I'd try to help you out with an LJ layout right now, but my brains are currently occupied (and fried) by homework that is due tonight. I'd love to get a copy, though, of anything you might get.
If you try to replace the graphic on your current layout, I think the graphic needs to be a tad smaller (maybe 950 px instead of 1000? something like that). I have a code for a Flexible Square layout that would probably work, too. I'll try fiddling with it after the homework is done and let you know.

Date: 2009-03-04 02:05 pm (UTC)*nods knowingly* Too true. And I only have one kid!
If you don't mind me asking, how old is your youngest? We're thinking of taking our daughter to Disney next year, after she turns 4. But I'm wondering if she'll still be too young then.

Date: 2009-03-04 10:23 pm (UTC)At four I'd expect that if she wasn't afraid of the dark she'd like all of Fantasyland except maybe the Matterhorn, Toon Town unless she doesn't like loud noises (we used cotton balls to cut the noise), the astro blaster, the monorail, Finding Nemo submarines, Autopia, Pixie Hollow (with Tinkerbell) and the astro orbiter in Tomorrowland, the Winnie the Pooh ride in Critter Country, the Pirate ship, the canoe ride, the Pirates Lair (used to be Tom Sawyer's Island), Pirates of the Carribean, Tarzan's Tree House, the Tiki Room and the Jungle Cruise in Adventureland. In Frontierland, the Riverboat ride, and the big train that circles all of Disney.
There's also lots of shows like Aladdin or High School Musical 3 or Drawn to the Animation that last about 20 minutes, and the parades that she would like. The big rides like Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain tend to overload their systems with adrenaline and then you won't get them on anything. So if you go with the idea of skipping the big rides, she'll likely enjoy it.
If she is afraid of the dark at all, I'd wait until she's at least six. Oh, and the Haunted House I'd wait on at that age, too. We waited until this year to take the kids on that and prepared them well in advance for what they'd see and the screaming in the elevator room and they did great, but I wouldn't have wanted to deal with it with a four year old.
