                                                            Chapter Two: Fragile Trust

Rose can’t find him. She has searched all his usual haunts and the Doctor is nowhere to be found. He probably doesn’t want to be found, not after her deplorable rejection of him. She feels frustrated tears welling up in her eyes again. She has promised herself she won’t break down again, that nothing is being accomplished by her crying jags. It is obvious he doesn’t want to be found, that he has hidden himself somewhere in the bowels of the ship.

                                                            Chapter One: Porcelain Heart

The Doctor’s uncertainty is very strong as he waits for Rose to join him in the TARDIS. She’s already two hours and twenty-two minutes and thirty-three seconds late. He’s not used to this, not used to his stomach churning or of feeling afraid that despite their words of the night before, she simply won’t show up. She’ll change her mind and she won’t tell him. She’ll just expect him to know that she’s leaving him, that she’s never coming back, that she doesn’t want him anymore because he’s changed and that things will truly never be the same again.
