amberfocusI have been having a devil of a time writing oneshots and shorter fics lately. It seems like the only time I'm in the mood for writing, it's to work on LoF or Stars. So you can imagine my relief when I finally got a brian wave after listening to a song I heard for the first time today. And it worked perfectly with the picture prompt I wanted to use for the Bump in the Night ficathon. I've been trying to write this fic for weeks! Finished it three days before the extended deadline, so yay me. And it's not Nine fic for the first time in...ages.
Still seem to be blocked on writing anything smutty. The smut muses have fled the building and seem to have no intention of coming back. *sighs* Maybe once all this school crap is taken care of and I can relax again it'll be better.
Oh, well, at least I wrote something, and it's off to beta and hopefully it's as spooky as I wanted it to be. I don't know, I'm not used to writing scary, slightly horror-edged stuff, so I'm not the best judge of it. I'm just glad to have it done at this point.
