I just got back from Victoria--aka [livejournal.com profile] jeprdyfrndly's--wedding.  I think it was the most beautiful wedding I've ever gone to.  It was outdoors in a large rose garden and the flowers were just amazing.  Every rose bush seemed to be in full bloom and the air was heavy with their scent.  The weather was ideal.  Gorgeous and warm with a light breeze.  She looked amazing in a close-fitting strapless gown with silver rhinestones on the bodice.  Her veil was in three layers, the center one being blue.  She had her blonde hair up in a sweet updo with long bangs angling down to one side across her forehead.  She carried a bouquet of sterling roses (those bluish purple ones).

Peter looked good, too.  A little too good, really.  When I've seen him before he's just been this nerdy boy with wild hair, ripped jeans and rock t-shirts who gets by on his fun personality.  Put him in a tux, do something stylish with his mop of black curls, and have him smiling like a maniac and he's rather stunning.

The food at the reception was stunning, both in flavor and visual presentation.  The choices were filet mignon, chicken tika masala, or wild Pacific salmon.  I had chosen the beef, because let's face it, I am a red meat kind of girl.  It was perfectly prepared and may have been the best I have ever eaten.  I even drank half a glass of champagne because they had the real stuff from France and I wanted to try it.  I don't, as a rule, drink, because even a little alcohol usually gives me an instaheadache.  This didn't, but I kept it to the small amount.  It was better than any I've had before.  I don't generally like the taste of any of it, but if for some reason I ever decide I need to get drunk high quality French champagne will be the way to go.  The cake was beautiful, white and silver (edible ball bearings!) with blue frosting flowers that matched Victoria's flowers.  The bottom layer was a large rectangle and a round sat on top of it, then two more round tiers on pillars sat on top of that.  The topper was two glass swans inside a heart.

There was also a chocolate groom's cake with the TARDIS, the Ninth Doctor, and Rose from season two action figures that someone had made a little tux, top hat, and wedding dress and veil for.  I wish I had taken my camera!  Maybe I can get Victoria to post it when she comes back from her European honeymoon.  She's notoriously private when it comes to photographs and the internet, though.

Oh, for those of you reading her fic, I Thought it Would Last Forever, she's given me two chapters of it (still need to be beta'd) and I have posting access to her LJ, so I will likely post a chapter tomorrow and one again in a week.
