Another Busy Day

amberfocusIt's been a really, really, really long day today but a lot of good came out of it. DH brainstormed with me to figure out the science behind what I want to do in the next chapter of You're What? and it feels like it's going to work really well. I was a bit stymied for a while on how I was going to carry out exactly what I wanted to carry out and he of course, being the engineer that he is (read: geek) helped me so much.
Feels like we ran every errand known to man today, though. Well, not every one. But I'm exhausted. We went to Lowe's, Home Depot and Wal*Mart, the chiropractor, the doctor's office, the bank, the credit union, to my mother's house and out to eat lunch at Olive Garden. My feet are killing me from all the walking around giant warehouse stores.
We found the replacement tub surround kit we're going to use to replace the one in the master bath and found out what else we'll need to buy. 4 pieces of moisture-proof sheetrock, putty, paint, screws, putty knife and a razor knife for scoring. All in all it looks like we can do the job for under $500, which makes me happy. I thought it would be quite a bit more than that, but it's well within budget so that's good. Now we just have to borrow FIL's truck and buy the stuff and bring it home. We'll do the work while the kids are at camp. It'll probably take us about three days to do it, but it'll be so nice to have a decent back wall again. We're going to replace the showerhead too with a rainmaker one. I love those ones. Ours is a small one, but they've got a much larger version and I can't wait to use it. The old one is leaking something fierce.
