I've got ch. 3 of Treading Water ready to post, but I went to post it and the cut, even though it's there, is not working right and the chapter showed up on the friends list completly there, with the cut link.  And since it's complete and utter smut from the very first line, I don't want to inundate your flists with it, since so many of you read your LJ's at work if the cut doesn't work.

What is up with LJ?  Why does it keep doing this?  Is anyone else having these problems or is it just me?

I'm going to send it to Teaspoon anyway and maybe it'll see the light of day sometime in the next 24 hours, most likely buried on page 2 or 5 in a cascade of updates, and maybe by morning my LJ will work right again.  I am so frustrated!  And anything pasted from Word is still showing up black in the preview when it's supposed to be white.  I can change the color manually, but what is going on?

To be quite honest I suspect that it is LJ doing updates to their systems. Frequently sys admins will do this kind of thing at the lowest usage times to minimize this kind of grief for the majority of the user population. Doesn't help us night owls one bit though. Still in GUUUUHHHHHH land by the way from that chapter. *runs back to reread it from my txt file version I just cloned off when you did the post. :D*

Did you notice LJ's info post (http://news.livejournal.com/109854.html) about how they've updated the rich-text editor? They advise emptying your browser's cache to ensure you're using the new one BUT my experience in using it so far (last night) is that it is VERY buggy and not producing correct HTML code.

I used it to produce an indented and bulleted list and when it didn't look right I went to the code view. What it was coding was NOT what I'd asked for and I eventually had to typeset in Dreamweaver and then paste the HTML code directly into the code window, bypassing the rich-text editor.

I had noticed the HTML thing was being obnoxious recently.

Yeah. But it's them. It's completely them. *sighs* Still.

Yeah, but it's still going on a week later. I wish they'd get it done already.
