Whining a Bit and Fic Update

I don't like going to the dentist.  This is a far cry from being afraid to go to the dentist, because I'm not afraid.  I just don't like it.  Never have.  What's worse than that though is taking one of my kids in to get work done.  Doesn't matter that it's a pediatric dentists, doesn't matter that she had nitrous oxide and painkillers and local anesthetic, headphones and a video to watch the entire time (kid's today have it so easy, me it was here's your shot and open up).  But anyway, Rose is miserable and aching and generally whining like a five year old, instead of the twelve-year-old she is.  (And I get to do it all again tomorrow with Tobias only much earlier in the morning).  Rose did sleep some, thank goodness and we stopped off afterwards at Hong Kong Garden and got egg flower soup for her and seasame chicken and rice for me.  

The dentist wouldn't have been so bad but we had to be there an hour ahead of time so she could take what they call sleepy juice, but which is a pretty powerful narcotic, then you sit there for an hour while it works.  Unfortunately they were also running an hour behind so we had to sit there for two hours before she went back.  After that the work was done in 40 mintues time.  I read some of the DW book I'm reading, a Nine/Rose/Jack one that takes place in Russia.  Forget what it's called.  It's pretty good so far.  I took my laptop, too and managed to get 1200 words written on Zeppelins and three paragraphs on Treading Water.  Yeah, you try writing smut in a pediatric dental office with little kids all around you and tell me how much you manage to get down.  So not sure when the smut will get finished.  Hoping some time tomorrow.

As for Zeppelins, Jonathon's flirting hard with Rose again at the restaurant and being slightly inappropriate in a way she's totally enjoying. *grins*

Victoria (JeopardyFriendly) is back from her trip to see her family with new Whofan boyfriend.  It went well.  College starts soon for her again.  I think she said her classes start tomorrow.  So I'll have both betas going again now.  Though Vic's still probably going to be busier than she used to be with the boyfriend and it being her final year of school.

I'm going to take a nap (still haven't adjusted to the fact that I've been off caffeine for two weeks) and then get to work on Zeppelins.  Not sure if I'll finish chapter nine tonight or not, but I'll sure try.  I'll fall asleep with it on my mind and perhaps dream up some lovely, sexy new dialogue for the dance portion of their date. *grins*

My dentist always had cool little toys you could sort through after the appointment, and that usually shut me and my sister up. No toys at your dentist's? =(

Oh, there were lots of toys. I just couldn't concentrate enough to block out the noises.

It's The Deviant Strain. I bought it off amazon.com and they got if from The Book Depository which imports from England. I have all the Nine books and the first two Ten books.

OOh, dancing !! LOL Somehow I know you mean dancing, not 'DANCING!' - but that doesn't stop me waiting with baited breath *grins*

I'm not fond of the dentist myself - it's the slightly sickly smell they all have, tends to make me a little queasy...and you're right, they have got it easy these days. I was one of those 'open your mouth and close your eyes' kids...hasn't instilled a love of the buggers in me at all lol

2.45am here in England. Can't sleep as usual. Just lurking to see whether any more lovely yummy fic had appeared from my favourite author. But going to the dentist *clutches her face* my worst nightmare, even if it's with someone else, so you had my sympathy...that is until you teased about Zeppelins - sympathy withdrawn.*winks* Ha not really just don't make me wait too long - need a Jonathon fix. *puppy dog eyes*

I wish the used bookstore would actually have Who and Torchwood books; there are an awful lot of them to be buying, though I have 2 Torchwood ones. Slow Decay, incidentally, is rather good. Haven't read the other.

I think I'll leave that feat to you. ;) I'm generally too busy breathing deeply and worrying to death to think sexy thoughts. So don't like the dentist.
