Argh, help!

Does  anyone know why the type of anything I cut and paste into LJ is coming up a different color in my preview window than it normally does?  Anything I type directly in is still white, but anything I cut and paste is coming up black, which is hard to read against the purple background.  Is LJ glitching or did I press some button I don't know about?  Is it just a preview window thing and it'll go away if I post it?  I've got part one of a smut fic I'd like to post, but not if it's going to be impossible to read.

LJ is to glitching what bread is to butter.
That said, have you tried selecting the text and changing the colour while you're at the 'post an entry' page? (Using the little coloured globe with the letter A next to it.)

Yes, I said smut!fic. *grins* A little birdie named Amy told me that "someone" wanted some smut!fic from me. And this one's been kicking around aching to be finished.

I managed to solve the problem by transferring my Word document to Works and then copying it from Works to LJ. The problem went away and the first part of the smut!fic is now up.

I had this last week too when I copied a story from a word document into lj. After this the html code was all messed up with stupid/unnecessary code I had to delete manually. Maybe you can try to change the text color in word to white and then c&p it again into lj. Or try to change the color in lj like lillibetm3 suggested.
I hope you get it fixed soon. I'm totally up to some smut fics :)

Once I switched from Word to Works the problem went away, thankfully. Thanks!

The window you copy/paste the text into, do you have to format it using HTML codes, or does it have a buttons system (like word).

Try copy/pasting into notepad to remove any formatting on the text, and then copy/pasting into LJ.

I've been using Rich text not html, because I suck at html. But transferring it to Works and then copying and pasting solved the problem. Thanks.

Usually when it gets strange I just switch over to html and post it into the html window then when it comes back it is ONLY the test and none of the coding.

That's just weird! [/end helpful statement] ;) I'm glad you got it fixed, though! (I keep having nightmares that my cut is going to fail and my NC-17 stuff will be out there accosting the eyes of my younger flisters! O_O So every time I post a chapter, I keep going back and checking it over and over, trying to reassure myself that the cut really IS working, lol! ) ♥!
