Long, Long Day and Story Updates
Apr. 24th, 2008 08:12 pmYes, it has been. I did far more driving today than I am accustomed to. I took the car down to Burlington to have it fabric guarded and paint sealed. It is an hour long drive from my house. I got a loaner car from the dealership. It was a tiny little Yaris, which is not bigger on the inside than the outside like my Matrix is. And it was a low end one, so didn't eve have cruise control, which is not fun for an hour long drive on the highway or freeway. But it drove well otherwise. It was just really loud on the road noise. So anyway, drove it back home and took a nap from one to three, then picked up my son from school and then headed back to the dealership, then back home again, so all in all I drove four hours today and my back is sore from it. It is a much nicer trip in my car, with satellite radio or my CD's then regular radio which does not like the foothills much.
Nine is starting to behave himself and I think I'll have a good chance of having Pain finished and up some time tomorrow. I spent a lot of time going over dialog in my head for ch. 10 of Hunger Moon. And I finally figured out just why it is the Ganyites are on the moon, why they ever attacked the moon base in the first place in Of the Vortex Born, which will go a long way in letting me get that fic finished!
I finally got all my comments answered. I had 43 and it took me about an hour and a half to do it, but it's done. Yay!
Oh, forgot to mention this, but the 19th of April was my six month of writing DW fanfiction. I'd written 30 stories (well, a couple are not complete yet) in that amount of time. Just amazes me because even though I've been writing since I was nine years old, it has always been hard for me to finish things. I have a couple boxes full of story starts, first few chapters and stuff, but before writing DW I never finished more than one manuscript, so this has been quite the fun experience and has given me the realization that I can do it if I ever try to write my own stuff again. Which I will do one day but right now I'm having too much fun with DW.
Oh, and silly squee moment, on Monday I hit 150 people favorite authoring me at Teaspoon. I was so thrilled! I know it's silly, but still, when I think how shy I was about ever posting a story to begin with, it just makes me ridiculously happy that they've gone over so well.
