Oh, my gosh, I will be glad when Girl Scout season is over. The aggressive sales tactics make me want to be a mean person. If a person is making a wide circle around you and refusing to meet your eyes, jumping in front of them, waving your arms and shouting, "Do you want to buy some Girl Scout cookies!?" is not acceptable.

I was a freaking GS. We were taught to use manners above all else when selling cookies. We were also not allowed to camp outside of stores and harass people. And seriously, if someone says no to you on the way in, do NOT ask them again on the way out. I had to tell the girl to get out of my way.

I really wanted to tell off their father. Aside from their aggression, they were running in front of people's shopping carts, including a lady on an oxygen tank, cutting them off, and getting in everyone's way. The Campfire Girls don't act like this when they sell their mints, but every year for the past seven, the Girl Scouts have gotten progressively worse.

Cursing out a GS is really bad form, but I have never been so tempted in my life, as I was today! But that would make me as bad as them. *sighs*

I was a Girl Scout (3rd year Brownie to 3rd year Senior) and volunteered with them for years. I keep the phone number for the local council in my phone during cookie sales. I have called to report booths that were not following safety wise rules or the girls/adults were being rude or agressive. Just let them know the troop number- the girls should have it on a vest or sash.

I hate this kind of thing. It's really bad thing to teach children too. If someone says no then push them till they give in. I would write the GS club a letter explaining how rude you found this and state the explames above. Tell them it doesn't make the GS look good or want to support them.

I hate aggressive sale tactics. Some women where collecting money for charity last week in from of the counter store. As I was put 5k jugs of water into my van. The lid of one came off showing my school bag and laptop in water. As I was going mad trying to clean it up this woman pops up out of no where as starts asking for money. I tell her just minute I just spilled water everywhere on my stuff and I need to clean it up. She keep asking and asking and pushed a flier into my hand as holding my bag taking stuff out of it to dry it off. Then finally when she could see I wasn't going to drop everything to talk to her she walked around the van to harass my mom who was also cleaning up the water. So my mom save money to go away. WTF? How rude is that? I would've given money for charity but I didn't want to another that. Also pretending you don't speck good English as reason how to understand when someone says they busy is lot of crap because anyone can see when you are cleaning up something and taking everything out of your car you are busy. You don't have to speck the same language to understand common courtesy

Wow, they sound crazy! That's weird, though - our GS cookie sales ended a couple weeks ago. I agree with you about the behavior, though - you seriously may want to report them, or at least say something to the adult that is SUPPOSED to be monitoring them. Although sometimes the parents are worse than the kids. One time I was going into a store and there was a sports team outside collecting for something or other. This was back when my son was very small. I said something like, "Sorry, not today," and the mother glared at me and yelled, "Just wait until YOUR &^%& kid is on a &$#* team - see how YOU like it!" (including words totally not fit for kids - or me! - to hear).
