Too Many Feels--Haven Finale

amberfocusI finally was able to see the Haven season finale. What is this five week waiting period Syfy and why do you do this to me? Anyway, right now my heart is about broken.
It's not like I wasn't expecting this to happen, they've only been leading up to the whole "Audrey goes in the barn and the troubles stop and she'll disappear from time and space for 27 years" thing for most of the season, but...you always have that last minute hope that your OTP is not going to be seperated forever and ever at a big white wall of DOOM (oh, wait, sorry, that's Doctor Who), and then you are left to cry in your Cheerios because shows like this always do soul-killing things to hope.
And of course, of course, I knew that Nathan had to be James' father. That was evident from when he travelled back in time and met Sarah, but it was still written beautifully. And to finally have that beautiful kiss between Nathan and Audrey...*sighs* And then everything implodes and Duke follows Audrey into the barn and...and...Nathan has these tears in his eyes that are almost falling and it utterly kills me. Partly because it's Nathan and he keeps so much inside and you know how much it is killing him to lose Audrey and partly because it reminds me so much of Ten in DW when he loses Rose.
I don't know where they will go now. 27 years into the future? Making Nathan 60 by the time Audrey returns not having aged a day and with a new identity and no knowledge of having been Audrey, or Lucy, or Sarah? Or Audrey and Duke finding a way to steer the barn not so far into the future while still preventing the meteor storm from taking out Haven? And I don't care if that guy said Audrey was human, I'm still not sure I agree. I mean this has alien written all over it.
Gah. And I don't even know how long I will have to wait since Syfy has these weird half seasons. Well, as long as they don't cancel it and I totally get some answers.
Also, how cool was Laura Vandervoot as psycho Arla? You never want to believe someone that beautiful could be crazy, but she does it so well. I've missed seeing Laura on the screen since V was cancelled so this was a lovely surprise. Between her and Claudia Black it's been a sci-fi reunion this season.
All in all it's been a great season, but if I have one bone to pick, it is that they sacrificed Claire. I was hoping for a little something between her and Duke. I mean, there has to be something for Duke other than Duke/his boat, and it's not gonna be Duke/Audrey. Oh, well, you can't have everything. Now so long as Syfy doesn't cancel this show before things can be revealed, I'll be a relatively happy camper.

Date: 2013-03-01 12:03 am (UTC)I don't really know what I want for the next season other Nathan and Audrey to be together. And for her not to be with Duke. I love Duke, I really do, but the vibe is off with him for me as Audrey's love interest. Part of the reason I was so upset about Claire being killed because Duke vibed so well with her for me.
I kind of would like Audrey to remember her past lives, though, with lots of flashbacks.
