OK, how to do an lj-cut:

At the beginning of whatever bit you want to cut, type *lj-cut text=""* (replace the * with brackets ("<" at the beginning, ">" at the end), and put whatever text you want between the two quote marks).

Then go to the end of whatever you want to cut, and type */lj-cut* (again, replace the * with "<" and ">", as applicable).
