Chapter Two: Burn

Rose cuddles into the Doctor’s naked body, her fingers drawing patterns on his chest and then dipping lower to create them on his belly, occasionally drifting down to play with the line of hair below his navel that leads her towards temptation, a temptation that for the moment she resists, her fingers barely touching the top of the patch of curls before meandering back up to the hair of his chest. But he shakes his head no, gives her a hooded look that makes her burn from breasts to groin and says, “Patience. For a moment he doesn’t hear her and she has to bang him on the shoulder to get his attention. “Doctor, stop!” she repeats and the glazed look leaves his eyes and he’s looking hurt and scared and uncertain and she says, “Condom. We forgot to use a condom!”

“I thought…aren’t you taking pills?”

“Well, but when it didn’t look like anything was gonna happen…I don’t like them and…so I haven’t been.”

“I…I don’t have condoms, Rose.”

“I do. In my purse.”

“I thought you thought…”

“Well, yeah, but I hoped…” He leans over and snags her purse off the floor and pulls it up onto the bed and dumps it out, scrabbling through the contents until he finds the little packet. He rips it open and withdraws from her body and starts to put it on but she stops him. “That’s inside out.” She takes it from him and turns it about and rolls it onto him and then lies back down.

He finds his way back inside her and before he starts again he kisses her long and hard and then they resume their former positions and he is driving into her again, pounding hard and fast and furious and his body is tensing and he asks her, “Are you close?”

And she bites her lip in frustration because she is, but not as close as he is and he lifts from her a bit, reaches his hand down between them and starts stroking at her clit and he has slowed down his movements to hold back for her until she is closer and then when she nods at him he is off again like a shot rabbitting into her body and if she thought the orgasm before was good it is nothing compared to the one he gives her now as every muscle in her body clamps down and her arms flail about in spasmodic rhythm with the rest of her body and her vision goes black and a wave of white noise rushes through her head and there is nothing but this, wave after wave of clench and release and it’s brilliant and it almost hurts but it feels so wildly amazing she almost can’t stand it. He stiffens against her and shouts her name and thrusts erratically inside of her.

At last her body lies limp and sated and he collapses on top of her and she wraps her arms tightly around him not wanting to ever let him go. “I love you,” he murmurs, nuzzling into her neck. “So much.”

“I love you,” she whispers back against his ear and he rolls them so that she is beside him and slowly withdraws from her body. And she knows, knows, that she is where she’s supposed to be, here and now with this man, who is and ever will be, her Doctor.
