Grr. Argh. Plot Bunnies

Why is it I get these overwhelming, fully-fledged plot bunnies when I am desperately trying to work on other stories? When I am trying to finish fics that have been on the back burner for far too long? I'm not even sure what to call this one. AU? Fever dream? Nightmare? Alien plot? All of it? Stupid TTU prompt. It grabbed me hard and doesn't want to let me go. Normally I wouldn't mind so much, but it's massive and it doesn't want to be wrestled down to the nice, neat size of a one-shot. In other words, way too big for TTU. *grumble grumble*

Maybe best not to fight it? In my experience you will at least eventually go back to the other story and all your stories are wonderful so if we get more stories started: YAY!!!!

I had this same problem when I was writing my Star Trek big bang fic. Other fic ideas would crop up and it was so frustrating because I was on a deadline for STBB. What I did was just start writing down bits and pieces of what other fics begged to be written, and tell myself that I'd get back to them after I'd finished my bb.

Had that happen to me not long ago. I stopped fighting it and wrote an outline for the story, so the need to write isn't as urgent, but it's still bugging me. I've just got other things on my plate right now so I can't write it.

But I agree with fishface up there: more stories isn't a bad thing at all!

I've recently learned that giving into The Bunny is actually very good for my muse... seems to kick it into gear. Oh dear, now I'm singing "The Bunny" from Veggie Tales "Rack, Shack and Benny." Ooooh, now THAT'S a cracky crossover. Ha! Don't worry, that is one crossover that isn't going to happen.

STORY OF MY WRITING LIFE. I have learned I can't fight the plot bunnies. If something is nagging my brain, I have to write it or I won't be productive on anything else. It's crazy frustrating, but I guess I'd rather have an overactive muse than no muse at all. :)

I seem to have rather the opposite problem myself, lol, haven't even managed to write anything for my own damn ficathon, lol
