You guys really don't have any idea how much you cheer me up on a daily basis. It is a lovely thing to have such good f-listers who genuinely care so much, even when I don't have the energy to even answer you back. I am doing a bit better today. I have kept my food down since around noon. I have completely stopped taking the narcotics and have gotten permission to just use Ibuprofen, which does not seem like much in the face of oxycodone or hydracodone, but it's five days post-surgery and the pain has lessened enough that unless I move too fast or wrong, or pull against the surgical site, it is bearable with multi-icepacks changed out every few hours. So even if it is 400 mg of Ibuprofen at least it's helpful because the food seems to be staying put. Also the fever is down a bit.
I am still doing a mosty liquid diet though. I am not entirely sure I trust this thing called digestion just yet. But Chris went down and got me egg flower soup from Hong Kong Garden, which at least has protein in it with the egg, and I've had two bowls today and they seem to be agreeable to me. I always get it when I have the stomach flu, so maybe my body has just been tricked into believing it is a cure for this sort of thing. I am considering the vanilla pudding or Jello for my next trick.
It is just such a relief for my body to rest and not go through that sort of violence. It literally wrecks you to be sick like that. I feel like I've been through a war inside myself.
It is not hot here. It has not really even been summer yet here except maybe 3 days in June. I am glad of it considering the heat waves so many of you are having. I am hot, mostly the fever, but the ice packs seems to help keep the overall body heat down, too. I hope it stays that way because there is no air conditioning in this house.
All right, I am getting sleepy, but I wanted to let you all know that things are a little better.

Date: 2011-07-21 05:42 am (UTC)Good on your hubby for being a good hubby and bringing you your lovely soup. Have you tried ginger tea? Whenever my tummy gets crabby, ginger settles it right down.
Hope you feel better soon, hon!

Date: 2011-07-21 12:18 pm (UTC)Here, have a little gift.
“If you’re so clever, how come you didn’t know that was gonna happen?”
The Doctor sighs, giving Rose a long-suffering glare. “Don’t know every custom on every planet in the universe, do I?”
She’s not fazed. “Why not? You’re the one who’s nine hundred and a genius!”
“Yeah, I am.” Now he’s defensive. “That doesn’t mean I know every trivial detail about every single tiny, unimportant species there is!”
Rose glances down at the matching tassels tied around their wrists. “Just this one would’ve helped.”
“What, don’t want to be my wife?” He smirks, and pins her against the console.
