So Frustrated

I spent almost two weeks working on my Noir fic and then yesterday somebody posted one that had such a similar plot to mine that it was like she was in my head the entire time I was writing it.  Only I didn't see it until today.  It is so frustrating.  I've been trying to rework it so that it is different enough to not sound like the same story written from a different character's view point, but I'm having a hard time.  There's just not enough time left to do it.  I sitll plan to finish it but I don't think it will be in time for the challenge deadline which is like...four hours away.  I'd probably have better luck writing a new one from scratch at this point.

I know exactly how you feel. There's one that has a similar concept behind it as mine, but you know what, I AIN'T EVEN BOVVERED. Hopefully gonna get this one in under the deadline.

I completely agree. At the end of the day, you can tell the same story with a trillion different little spins to it, and it will never sound the same to the reader. How many Doctor/Rose Human Nature stories are there? TONS! And yet IHH still stands out on its own brilliantly and is unique, because of the particular spin and wording and characterization you have brought to it.

Go for it! I'd love to read it! =)
