Brief Update
Apr. 11th, 2011 09:24 pmRose is sick again. I can't tell if I'm catching something else or if it's just allergies. Since everything that could be in bloom right now is in bloom and tossing its trampy little bits of pollen everywhere, I think (hope, hope, hope) it is just allergies and tiredness. The circles under my eyes are black. It looks like smudged eyeliner only I don't wear makeup. I cannot be sick again right now. I won't be. I need to be able to swim and take care of my kids and have a life and write. DH comes home on Wednesday and DS leaves on Wednesday for a class trip. That might make things easier for a couple days anyway.

Date: 2011-04-12 08:36 pm (UTC)If you're sick all the time, and your doctor is telling you "you're perfectly healthy, you just get sick a lot," your doctor is wrong.
I don't know what your health insurance is like or whether you've even brought it up with your doctor, but seriously, the next time you go in for some kind of a general check, it's worth saying something. It took them fourteen years to discover my gallbladder was so full of gallstones there was no room for anything else. Three years after that, I discovered a gluten intolerance that accounted for sixteen years of nasal allergies (leading to sinus infections), migraines, anemia, and G.I. issues. A year later (after firing the Doctor who told me "you're just overweight and retain water), they finally found an medicated the thyroid problem (which took out the weight gain, the swelling, the anxiety attacks, and a host of other things they kept telling me were all in my head). Each little piece has made me slightly better (I still have fibromyalgia, so I still get sick a lot, but sometimes I get well on my own now), and each piece is one where doctors spent years, if not decades, telling me there was *nothing wrong with me.*
I shall hope this is not true in your case, and that your health magically improves. But again . . . it's worth looking into.
