Fic Rec

Sometimes there are fics that are just so good that they make you ache.  You cry and you laugh and you just enjoy them so very much that they make wading through everything else worth it, because they are just so very beautiful.  Last night I read one such fic and then today I turned around and read it again.  I have seldom been tempted to read long fics more than once.  This one I simply couldn't resist reading twice and may go back for a third go around.  It was just so gorgeous and enthralling.  It will stay with me for a long, long time.

If you haven't had the pleasure of reading The Art of Being Human by sapphire_child, I really strongly urge you to do so.  It's an AU retelling of Human Nature/Family of Blood with Ten and Rose.  It is the best Ten and Rose one I've read and I've read some beauties.  wildwinterwitch's and CharmingSlayer's come to mind.  It is more than worth the time it will steal from your life.

I am so unbelievably humbled by your rec. Just...wow. Thank you so, SO very much darling. You honestly have no idea how utterly, utterly thrilled I am that you enjoyed it so much. A story like this, being such a gigantic undertaking and a labour of love would have been brilliant for me just as an exercise in writing, but to know that people have been so touched by my words that they've gone back and re-read it, that they may well go back and read it again or recommend it to others to read...it just makes all of it so much more worthwhile.

Oh, sweetie, it was just that good. Really, I adored it. I've read it five times now. It really was the perfect fic for me to read while down with the flu. You've got an amazing talent, my dear, and I am so glad you shared it all with us.
