My very first crush in middle school was when I was twelve or thirteen and it was on the very sweet Ricky Shroder.  He was the most adorable thing ever and I think this is the root of my crushing on blue-eyed blondes.  I had his posters all over my walls.  I still have the theme song to Silver Spoons memorized two and a half decades later...



He grew up well, too, don't you think?






My high school (and grown up celebrity) crush was on David Bowie.  I was fourteen or thereabouts when Labyrinth came out and he was just so damn hot it was ridiculous.  The blond came into play yet again.  That hair, those eyes, and of course the ever famous leggings...GULP.  I wanted to be Sarah (and also have that ballgown she wore) and believe me in her place I wouldn't have given up Jareth for a little brother and an unhappy life at home.  Yes, I was that shallow.  And that crush on David Bowie?  Still hasn't gone away.  *laughs*

I had the same crush on Ricky Schroeder too. He was so adorable. And, yes, he has grown up well.

Never got into David Bowie, though. And have never seen Labyrinth. I'm so deprived.

poor deprived child that i am i didn't have a clue who david bowie was until about a year ago when i saw labyrinth too. i primarily found him kind of creepy. but he does have a strange sort of hypnotic charm about him that makes me wonder if i should change that assessment

my first thought looking at that picture though was "he'd make a good master". he has that air about him

I'm with you on David Bowie! My friends still laugh at me, because during one sleepover during a birthday party, we watched Labyrinth. Everyone else fell asleep, but I wanted to watch it again. At the end of the movie, the last shot of David, I paused the movie and just sat there staring at him for a bit. One of the girls woke up, and asked me what I was doing, and then woke everyone else up to laugh at/with me. It sounds horrible, but it was kind of funny, and I laughed with everyone else. That man is still sexy!

I liked David Bowie too! Though mostly from the heyday of MTV.




And can you blame me? ;)

But Labyrinth was quite an enjoyable movie. David Bowie + Jim Henson's creatures = loads of fun!
