I Watched Turn Left and I'm Curious

It was a brilliant episode.  It certainly almost made up for all the recent Donna lite episodes.  It's been rehashed to death elsewhere, but the one thing that I noticed, that I really, really noticed, was the interior of the TARDIS when Donna and the Doctor walked into it at the end, was red.  Red like it was when the Master made it into a paradox machine.  Now I doubt very much that the Master is back, not with Davros and the Daleks as the big bad, but are we looking at a paradox?  That's what I want to know.  Because I'm thinking that if we have a paradox, it's possible, just...that we will have a happy ending for Rose and the Doctor and a sad one at the same time.  I'm not exactly sure how yet, but if anyone could pull that off, it's RTD.

I thought of the paradox machine, too. No idea what it means - but there's definite connotations there, what with the Doctor's line about it being the "end of the world". But I don't know that it's the same End of the World as in S3 - I was thinking more along the lines of the two universes colliding. What did he say at the end of Doomsday, exactly, that he'd cause the universes to collapse if he and Rose spoke again, or something like that?

Anyway, that's what I'm thinking, along those lines. Not sure how much sense that makes.

Hmm...I don't think it can be the same end of the world. But we've heard the phrase used before, haven't we? Didn't Rose use it at one point in season one or two? I guess we can figure out how much sense stuff makes after watching the finale? Not sure we should try that hard just yet. *smiles*

Oh, but half the fun is TRYING to figure out all the plots twists and possibilities before we actually get to the end! Why do you think I stuck with HP for so long - it was AGES between each book, and it wasn't near enough time to get through all the lovely theories.

I talked about that same thing with a friend. Though that is still going through my mind as a vague nudge. I also wonder that since the Cloister Bell is sounding if it is just a warning that things are really about to hit the fan.

Donna was utterly brilliant. She shone. You know it could just be the warning color. Didn't think about that. But then shouldn't it be mauve?

Could it be part of the warning system? I wouldn't be surprised that when the TARDIS was a paradox machine the gongs were going off full time(until the Master disabled them, I have to admit to unplugging my fire alarm when I accidentally set it off cooking). Is this the first time they've gone off in the new series onscreen? I can't really recall, but I think it is.

It's possible. For some reason I think I've heard the Cloister bells before in new Who. I'm thinking maybe when the Master stole the ship to begin with? Or some time. But yeah, part of the warning system seems viable.

The Cloister bells rang in the CiN special when Ten was going nuts after his regeneration, and we also hear them in TSoD when the Doctor, Martha and Jack enter the Paradox Machine.

Paradox is an interesting theory. I also don't think it could be the same kind of end of the world as in S3. I am trying really hard not to get too worried and speculate until we see the finale. I loved this episode though and Donna was brilliant.

Yeah, worrying doesn't help much of anything when it comes to DW. All I can think is that if RTD screws it up, there's going to be a lot of fan fixit fics on the way. So some good side, right?

My thoughts went along these lines as well,... I already had thought about something similar some weeks ago... I mean a solution were we could get a happy and a sad ending at the same time. Back then I just wished for something like that to happen, but didn't dare to actually hope for it. But now - after this brilliant episode, with Rose, Donna... and BAD WOLF - well, I actually do start to think about it again and hope that Russel might do something of the sort... 'cause I'd just love it...

What, no more thoughts beyond that?!

I personally thought that it was probably the best episode of DW I've ever seen, and I hadn't realized it was possible to adore Rose even more. It's like everything I've found fault in before seems to have vanished.

And I'm dying for Saturday; I only watched U/SoD/LotTL once so I'd forgotten about the paradox machine, but when I heard the cloister bell, I thought it beat the TARDIS kidnapping Martha for cliffhangers by far.

It definitely was a much better cliffie, and trust me, I know my cliffies! I have more thoughts but some of them are wrapped up around a certain spoiler and I don't want to voice it in case it's a real one. But it looks like, after seeing the new episode tonight, that it's heading the way I thought it might, which is not quite the way it looks.
