Writing Goals for the End of the Year
Nov. 1st, 2010 10:08 amI did not officially sign up for NaNoWriMo because deadlines and high pressure word counts aren't for me. But I am going to attempt to get a certain story out of my head that has been rattling around in there for two years now, during the months of November and December. I won't be giving up on the Doctor and Rose, they keep me sane, but I will likely be giving equal time to Catrin and Nate and their story. My unofficial goal is to write 8000 words a week, half on Catrin and Nate and half on DW fanfic with an eye on finishing Leap of Faith. I already know I can write 50,000 words in a month. I wrote Wolf Moon in nine weeks and that was 118,000 words so...it's not like I can't do it when motivated and under the thumb of the muses. I plan to write for two hours every day at least five days per week. I can usually put out about 1500 to 2000 words in that amount of time, sometimes more if I don't pause for procrastination breaks. But I'm not going to beat myself up over it if I don't make my word count each week. This is for me, to prove to myself that I can still write something besides fanfiction.

Date: 2010-11-01 11:32 pm (UTC)But no matter, I didn't start NaNo until the 4th in my first year and the second year I ditched my novel and started over on the 9th and still finished, so I'm not too worried yet.
I can't decide what to writ - I have this original story in mind, but it's nothing like plotted out. Then I have this monster crossover story which is all plotted....that one scares me a little as a NaNo project, becuase I can't wander. It's pretty much got to stick to plan, and I'm not good at winging that kind of thing.
Edit because I clicked too fast.
Good for you for writing an original story!! Sometimes it's good to get out fandom for a while. I hope you enjoy writing it.
