Another Update :o)

Well, when I stepped out of bed this morning there was no pain and it shocked me so much I sat right back down. It did start to twinge a little bit when I got up and took step three, but it's not even enough to take iubprofen and the relief is ridiculously great. So I guess the cortizone is doing it's job. Definitely don't need the cane today, even on steps. The antibiotics for the sinus infection are kicking in big time. I can breathe without multiple doses of Vick's Sinex or taking any Sudafed, which is awesome. I love Zithromax.
I was going to go to lap swim after my massage (mostly to use the sauna and hot tub, but to try to swim a bit) and Mom was going to pick up the kids from school and then Mom got a call from a nursing home in Evrett that can take Dad from the other one (he's not easy to manage right now, being combative and more work than the local place or the one in Tacoma can handle without drugging him up the wazoo. So she's had to take off and go down there to try to get him in today. So, maybe I'll take the kids to family swim right after school. I may not be able to swim laps at all, but I will be able to use the hot tub and work with water weights which is better than sitting on my butt all day.
My appetite has been cut about 1/3 this week between the pain and the cold so my calorie count has been way down. I'm still watching it, making sure I get at least 1200 calories and making every single one count, because I need the proper nutrition to get better and for the knee joint to continue to heal. I'm also really focusing on keeping the water intake high, which I can be lazy about. Normally I'll eat around 1700-1800 calories a day when I'm working out consistently (burning 1293 calories a day with just swimming) and about 1600 on the days I don't. I know I've lost weight this week because there is a big indentation in one side of my stomach that wasn't there before and my face looks thinner. I just, as usual, don't know how much because I still refuse to get on the scale anywhere but the doctor's office and even then I won't let them tell me what the number is, just how much total I've lost, which at last weighing was 18 pounds.
I'm getting closer to when I think I can handle seeing the numbers but...I still remember my 13 years with an eating disorder when I was young, but after 15 years in recovery I will not go back there, ever, or to the scale mindset that started me on that path when I was at a healthy weight, but everything in my life had fallen to hell. Focusing on health is the better way for me to go. Attitude is more important than anything here. It took me too long to train myself out of the bulimic mindset so...this works and you don't mess with what works when it's healthy.
I did start taking two supplements today. One is green tea extract and the other is Super Citramax, which is chromium picolinate, calcium, postassium and magnesium. SC is supposed to help with muscle spasms and joint healing and the chormium in it (like the green tea extract) is supposed to assist with weight loss and appetite reduction. I also normally take vitamin C to help with my immune function so that won't change. I've had the supplements for a couple weeks but this is the first time I remembered to take them. I put them on my alarm clock where I normally just keep my high blood pressure medicine, so I see it first thing when the alarm clock goes off. If I see them, I'll take them.
I am being Miss Lazy pants today and getting a beef taco from Taco Time for lunch before my massage. I almost never get takeout anymore, but these tacos are half lettuce and they are very good and one is 295 calories. I'll eat a large banana with it which is 121 and have water with it so all told 356 calories for lunch. Not bad for not having to cook.
